Awards season is usually dominated by couture gowns and Hollywood heavyweights, but at this year’s SAG Awards, it was one very special young guest who captured hearts on the red carpet.
Multi-hyphenate star Teyana Taylor arrived at the ceremony accompanied by her five-year-old daughter Rue, and the mother-daughter duo quickly became one of the evening’s most talked-about moments, delivering a refreshingly joyful display of family glamour.
Teyana looked every inch the fashion risk-taker in a sculptural strapless gown. The fitted bodice featured abstract tonal detailing, while the skirt cascaded into shimmering metallic embellishments that trailed behind her in a dramatic train. Completing the look, she wore a striking diamond necklace and matching earrings, while her cropped pixie hairstyle and flawless makeup added a modern edge to the red carpet ensemble.
But despite the show-stopping couture, it was little Rue who effortlessly stole the spotlight.
Dressed in an irresistibly sweet outfit, Rue paired a pastel blue striped cardigan with a playful printed skirt featuring colourful gem motifs, finished with cream tights and chunky black boots. The youthful look perfectly balanced comfort and personality, allowing her to move freely while joining her mother for the star-studded evening.
In one of the night’s most heartwarming moments, Teyana knelt down to share a kiss with her daughter as cameras flashed around them, the affectionate exchange instantly melting fans’ hearts. Another candid photograph captured Rue carefully adjusting her mother’s glittering gown train, proudly stepping into the role of mini stylist as Teyana looked on with a smile.
The sweet interaction highlighted the close bond between the pair, with Rue appearing completely at ease amid the glitz and glamour of Hollywood’s biggest night. Later, the youngster posed confidently beside her mum, flashing a playful peace sign for photographers while Teyana struck a statuesque pose nearby.
“She’s a very expensive stylist, OK,” Teyana told E News!. “She’s breaking the bag.”
Speaking about her daughter, she said, “I start to zone out, and I just stare at her, I think I’m killin it, but it’s her. It’s not me; it’s her.”
Rue added: “I just want to say, this is such an honor for me being here and I wanted to thank you guys for my mom and this wonderful day. And all of y’all’s outfits look very good. And I’m mostly saying this for my mom.”
