The Prince and Princess of Wales are teaming up for their first official outing in weeks

The Prince and Princess of Wales have a joint engagement on the calendar! The royal couple will be stepping out to London’s Natural History Museum on Thursday, Sept. 4. 

Prince William and Catherine, who is patron of the Natural History Museum, are set to visit the Museum’s newly transformed gardens. During their engagement, Their Royal Highnesses will also meet with children and young people taking part in learning programs.

The gardens, which opened in 2024, and the National Education Nature Park program are part of the Natural History Museum’s Urban Nature Movement — an initiative that aims to help people feel more connected to nature, as well as more confident in their ability to protect it and more invested in a greener future. According to Kensington Palace, the gardens and Nature Park Programme serve to encourage people to spend more time in nature through hands-on activities and by highlighting the accessibility of nature in urban settings.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ upcoming engagement is scheduled for the day after their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, return to school. Per the Lambrook School website, the new term starts on Wednesday, Sept. 3. 

The Wales children and their parents were in Scotland last month. The family of five were pictured heading to a church service at Crathie Kirk on Sunday, Aug. 24.

William and Catherine’s upcoming engagement marks their first official public outing in weeks. On July 13, the Prince and Princess attended the Wimbledon gentlemen’s singles final with their daughter and older son. Later that month, William and Princess Charlotte traveled to Switzerland for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 Final. 

The Prince and Princess of Wales and their children reportedly enjoyed a holiday in Greece this summer. According to the Daily Mail, locals in Kefalonia swore “blind that the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children George, 12, Charlotte, ten, and seven-year-old Louis arrived on the island by private Lear jet on July 16. Also in tow, others insisted, were the future King’s in-laws, Carole and Michael Middleton. All were then driven to a waiting superyacht.” William and Catherine reportedly traveled “around the idyllic Ionian Islands on a luxury £40million yacht.”
