Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights is not, under any circumstances, to be looked at for romantic advice, no matter how heartrending Heathcliff’s proclamations may be. Now that I’ve warned you, we can look to some other examples of love within the cast of Emerald Fennell’s latest feature. Wuthering Heights might be the stuff of an tween’s fantasy but many of its cast members offer a grounded look at love more solid than any rocks on those well-trodden Yorkshire moors.
We’re taking a look inside the love lives of the famous faces bringing Emily Brontë’s windswept novel to life. Though they might be lacking in ill-fated marriages, ghostly apparitions and corsets, there’s still plenty to admire in these celeb partnerships.
Tom and Margot are partners in both the personal and professional sense
Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley
The Wuthering Heights female lead found her, admittedly more stable, Heathcliff when Margot Robbie met film producer Tom Ackerley on the set of Suite Française in 2013. Tom was set up behind the camera as an assistant director, while Robbie starred in front of the camera alongside Michelle Williams in the WWII drama. Margot and Tom started dating in 2014 and quietly married two years later on Australia’s Gold Coast in December 2016. They have since welcomed their first child.
While Tom appears briefly in the Harry Potter franchise as a Slytherin student, he is best known for his and Margot’s co-founded production company, LuckyChap Entertainment. The couple were joined by Sophia Kerr and Tom’s colleague Josey McNamara, going on to produce hits like I, Tonya, Birds of Prey, and Barbie.

Alison Oliver and Josh O’Connor
Period drama fans will likely get a kick out of seeing Alison Oliver, who plays Wuthering Heights’ Isabella Linton, the well-to-do Edgar’s sister who develops something of a school girl crush on Heathcliff, paired up with The Crown’s Josh O’Connor. While both have kept quiet about their relationship status, they’ve been spotted together out and about since reportedly attending Alison’s sister’s wedding in September 2024. Josh made reference to his partner in a profile for British GQ, touching fondly on her feelings towards his driving and navigating their busy schedules.
The 35-year-old actor is most well-known for his role as Prince Charles in The Crown, the tattooed priest in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, and tennis player Patrick Zweig in Challengers.

Jacob Elordi and Olivia Jade
Actor Jacob Elordi and influencer Olivia Jade Gianulli have been an on-again-off-again pair since they were first spotted together in December 2021 on a coffee date with friends and, of course, Jacob’s golden retriever, Layla. Following a break-up in August 2022 reported by Us Weekly, the pair have had two or three more goes and it seems there’s hope for the lovebirds yet. In January 2026, Olivia was spotted leaving a New York hotel with Jacob following the Golden Globes, according to pictures published by the Daily Mail, and she attended an NYC screening of his movie Frankenstein later that day.
The 26-year-old is best known as an influencer and as the daughter of Full House star Lori Loughlin and her designer husband Mossimo Giannulli. Her YouTube and Instagram have turned into an impressive online career, with both accounts clocking at over a million followers each.

Martin Clunes and Philippa Braithwaite
Martin Clunes, better known to many as Doc Martin, is set to star as Cathy’s father, the man responsible for bringing Heathcliff into the family’s fold. He met his now-wife Philippa Braithwaite while working together, and they’ve crossed over on productions like Manhunt and Doc Martin. Martin proposed to her in Hawaii while on a shoot and they have now been married for almost 30 years. The couple share a daughter, Emily, who was born in 1999.
Philippa has just as much star power behind her as her husband, with a BAFTA nomination, producing credits on Sliding Doors, Manhunt, and Out There, as well as winning Producer of the Year at the 1998 British Independent Film Awards.

Jessica Knappett and Dan Crane
Comedian and actress Jessica Knappett has a suitably unconventional love story. In a self-written piece for The Guardian, she described how her air guitarist husband, Dan Crane, “was delivered to [her] door like a pizza”. When her producer let her stay in his flat while he was away, he asked if his American friend Dan could stay in the spare room. A quick Google search, and Jessica was more than happy to oblige. They got engaged after 18 months of dating, with the added pressure of long-distance, and married in 2016. They share two children.
Dan Crane might be most well-known as an award winning air guitarist, but he’s also got an extensive list of credits as a documentary writer, director, producer, and a voice-over artist in The Muppets film, as well as for voicing adverts for brands like Coke Zero, Amazon and Aperol.
