Aryna Sabalenka’s boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, finally popped the question to the tennis champion, with the happy couple sharing the news via social media on Tuesday night. Aryna showcased her giant, oval-cut diamond ring in a carousel of photos taken from the special moment, with many marveling at the size of her new rock.
HELLO! spoke with Alexandra Samit, founder and CEO of Alexandra Beth Fine Jewelry, who shared that the “timeless” and “classic” ring is set in platinum and likely ranges in price from $250,000 to $500,000.
The ring was designed by Isabela Grutman, founder and CEO of ISA Grutman Jewelry, who worked with Georgios for months to perfect the piece before he got down on one knee. “I’ve always admired their love and relationship, so I was incredibly flattered when Georgios asked me to design this piece,” Isabela said in a statement.
“We spent months working on the design, selecting the stones, and perfecting every detail of the craftsmanship to make it truly special for Aryna. What made it even more meaningful was Georgios’ idea to incorporate emeralds into the design, as it’s her favorite stone – a personal touch that makes the ring uniquely hers.” The ring features emerald accents around the edges.
Aryna shared insight into their intimate engagement on social media, revealing that her Brazilian businessman boyfriend proposed at night, next to a pool covered in white rose petals.
The pair were also surrounded by bouquets of pink, green and white flowers, and Aryna was dressed in jeans, a white T-shirt and black flip flops. “Well, I obviously had NO idea this was happening tonight,” she quipped in her Instagram stories, referring to her outfit.
The 27-year-old is currently competing in the Indian Wells Open in California, with Georgios traveling with her in support. Georgios, who founded the hit açaí bowl chain Oakberry, first met Aryna in 2024 when she signed on to be an ambassador for the brand.
He was a shoulder to lean on after the death of her ex-boyfriend, Konstantin Koltsov, in March 2024, as Aryna told People. “There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff,” she shared.
“But I make sure I kind of forget about tennis and focus on the good things and enjoy my life. Even when things are going wrong in my career. So yeah, he was my biggest support, and yeah, really happy to have him by my side.”
The Belarusian star dropped several hints about her desire to get engaged in recent months, including at the Brisbane International in January 2026.
“Thank you to my team for handling me. I really am the toughest to handle, and you are the toughest in the world because you can handle me,” she said during her post-match speech after winning against Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine.
“Thank you to my boyfriend…Hopefully, soon I can call you something else. Let’s just put some extra pressure,” she quipped.
