If there’s one thing we know about actors, it’s that they can become creatures of habit – especially when it comes to what they like to eat on set. Who could forget the viral Cobb salad that Jennifer Aniston reportedly ate every day for 10 years while filming Friends?
However, when it comes to Margot Robbie’s go-to on-set meal, the approach appears refreshingly simple. In fact, it’s something that can easily be recreated at home with just three ingredients.
While promoting the movie A Big Bold Beautiful Journey alongside Colin Farrell, the Aussie-born actress revealed that her co-star would make her a “chippy sandwich” because he was “highly impressed” with her appetite and her desire to “A, B, E,” or “always be eating.”
Margot’s “favorite” sandwich consisted of Tayto Cheese & Onion crisps wedged between two slices of white bread and a few “lashings” of Kerrygold butter on either side – a pure Irish delicacy. Colin would wrap the sandwich in foil and label it with an “M” before leaving it in the fridge to be ready for Margot’s call time.
“I ate one every single day,” she admitted. “It was my favorite part of this job.”
Margot Robbie’s diet
Despite her love for a pressed crisp sandwich, Margot’s diet is much more balanced when it comes to her day-to-day routine. Her meals often consist of proteins and vegetables, and she normally has porridge or a green smoothie for breakfast, salad or chicken for lunch, and fish with veggies for dinner.
A spokesperson from Total Shape, a fitness resource site providing information about workouts, supplements, and fitness, told HELLO! : “While the foods within Margot’s diet have plenty of health benefits, it’s important to remember that one diet does not suit everybody.”
They added: “It can be helpful to try different foods to see what works best for your goals, whether that be weight loss or building muscle.”
Last week, the actress revealed that she was effectively told to “eat less” by a male co-star early on in her career. Speaking to singer Charli XCX in a video interview for Complex, the Wuthering Heights star was asked about the worst gift she had ever received. She said: “Very, very early in my career, an actor I worked with, a male actor, gave me a book called Why French Women Don’t Get Fat.”
The title, which came out in 2007, was written by Mireille Guiliano. According to the synopsis, it promises to tell you “how to enjoy food and stay slim and healthy”.
“It was essentially a book telling you to eat less,” she shared. “I was like, ‘Whoa, [expletive] you, dude’.”
