More answers are coming out after Tiger Woods was involved in a rollover crash near Beach Road in Jupiter Island, Florida, just minutes from the home he’s owned since 2007. According to deputies, he was arrested on suspicion of DUI. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred near 281 Beach Road, which is near his home.
According to authorities, the crash happened shortly after 2 p.m., with two vehicles involved and one flipping over. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek said Woods did not appear to be hurt during a Friday evening news conference. He added that Woods complied with a breathalyzer but refused a urine test, per WPTV.
Details are still limited, but officials confirmed that one person was in stable condition while another refused medical treatment. No serious injuries have been reported so far, and the investigation is ongoing.
A history that follows him
This isn’t the first time a car accident has become part of Woods’ story. Back in 2021, he survived a serious rollover crash in California that left him with major leg injuries and required multiple surgeries.
At the time, authorities said he had been driving at a high speed before losing control and hitting a tree. He was, as officials put it, “lucky to be alive.”
Before that, in 2017, Woods was arrested after being found asleep behind the wheel with multiple prescription drugs in his system. He later said it was an unexpected reaction to medication tied to ongoing back pain and ultimately pleaded guilty to reckless driving.
And then there’s 2009 – the moment that arguably changed everything. Woods crashed near his Florida home after reports of infidelity surfaced. His then-wife, Elin Nordegren, famously used a golf club to smash the windows of the Tigers’ SUV after he drove over a fire hydrant and into a tree. She helped pull him from the vehicle, and what followed was a very public unraveling of his personal life.
A hopeful comeback
The accident comes during a time when the 50-year-old has been attempting yet another comeback, with hopes tied to upcoming tournaments like speculation he could return to the Masters tournament in Augusta next month. Though questions around his health have already been circulating after his recent Achilles injury. He’s also undergone 7 back injuries.
As noted by TMZ, last week, he competed in the TGL finals for his Jupiter Links GC team.
Off the course, his personal life continues to draw attention as well, including his relationship with Vanessa Trump.
