Timothée Chalamet is opening up about Kylie Jenner’s thoughtful girlfriend behavior. In a chat with Matthew McConaughey, Chalamet shared how he spent his birthday last year, which included a surprise from Jenner that highlighted one of his favorite movies.
In a town hall hosted by Variety and CNN at the University of Texas, Chalamet and McConaughey had a chat discussing their careers and reuniting after working together on the movie “Interstellar,” which remains one of Chalamet’s favorite movies that he’s ever worked on.
While Chalamet revealed to the audience that he’s seen “Interstellar” around 22 times on the big screen, McConaughey interrupted him, sharing with the audience that Chalamet’s girlfriend had organized a screening of the film to celebrate his birthday.
© Getty Images for HFPA“This is true,” said Chalamet. “My last birthday. And I was grumpy on the way there because I didn’t know where she was taking me. ‘It’s my birthday, why are we driving 30 minutes outside of LA?'” he said, mimicking his voice.
“I got to the theater, and it was Interstellar on IMAX. I said ‘Oh, I’m sorry. I’m sorry I was so grumpy on the drive,'” said Chalamet, prompting a laugh from the audience.
“I love that movie, man,” continued Chalamet. “I’m the only person who gets sad when Casey Affleck comes onscreen. Because that’s when I’m out of the movie.”
Jenner and Chalamet’s future
Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet were first linked together on January 2023, with the two keeping their relationship out of the public eye. Over the past couple of years, they’ve slowly introduced their relationship to the media, with her supporting him at his most important work events and award shows.
After winning best actor at this year’s Critics’ Choice Awards, Chalamet sent a sweet shout-out to Jenner. “And lastly, I’ll just say thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Earlier this year, it was reported that the two started to live together, a big step in their relationship that had been building for some time.
“Kylie has never dated someone like him, and it’s been refreshing because they have a very easy chill relationship,”said an insider to US Weekly. “They basically live together at this point. Kylie will stay at his house when she doesn’t have the kids, or when she wants to be in the city, and he spends a lot of time at her house in Hidden Hills.”
