Luxury watches, rare handbags and glittering diamonds have long been status symbols for the rich and famous – but for some celebrities, accessories have become a serious investment strategy.
A new report has examined the estimated market value of accessories owned by some of the world’s most famous stars. Researchers analysed four key categories – watches, handbags, jewellery and sunglasses – matching items seen in public appearances and social media posts with resale prices and auction house estimates.
The results reveal just how much wealth some celebrities carry in their wardrobes. According to the report, from eyewear brand Overnight Glasses, rapper and business mogul Jay-Z tops the list with an astonishing luxury accessory collection worth more than $70 million.
Most of Jay-Z’s accessory wealth comes from his extraordinary watch collection, valued at around $55 million. Among the standout pieces is a rare Patek Philippe timepiece reportedly worth more than $7 million. While he appears less interested in handbags, his jewellery collection alone adds another $15 million to the total.
© GC ImagesComing in second is boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr, whose accessories are valued at roughly $53 million. Unlike some collectors who focus on a single category, Floyd’s luxury portfolio is split between watches and jewellery. His crown jewel is the spectacular Jacob & Co. Billionaire III watch – an eye-watering $18 million diamond-covered piece.
Beyoncé takes the third spot thanks largely to her remarkable jewellery collection. Her gems alone are valued at $40 million, making it the most valuable jewellery collection owned by any celebrity in the study. A dazzling $10 million diamond necklace is reportedly the centrepiece of her collection.
© WireImageIn fourth place is Drake, whose accessories are valued at nearly $29 million. The rapper’s interests span several categories, including a handbag collection worth around $1.3 million – featuring the ultra-rare Hermès Himalaya Birkin, valued at about $380,000. His watch collection, meanwhile, is estimated at $20 million.
Rapper Lil Uzi Vert rounds out the top five with accessories worth approximately $28 million. Much of that total comes from jewellery – including the famous $24 million pink diamond he once had implanted in his forehead.

Football icon Lionel Messi holds around $25 million in accessories, largely driven by luxury watches. Music producer and fashion figure Pharrell Williams follows with roughly $18 million, while singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran also lands near $18 million, thanks to his impressive watch collection.
Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo comes next with accessories valued at more than $17 million, while reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian completes the list with $16 million in luxury items – including the most valuable handbag collection of any celebrity in the report, worth about $2.5 million.

“Looking at these collections, you realise that for these celebrities, style is actually an investment,” he said. “They aren’t just buying things to look good – they’re using luxury items to diversify their portfolios and hold onto wealth in a more tangible way.”
