On Thursday, the Washington Spirit announced that Rodman has signed a new three-year contract that will keep her with the club through the 2028 season. In response, the league introduced the High Impact Player rule, allowing teams to exceed the salary cap by up to $1 million to attract or retain top talent. The rule was meant to stabilize rosters and keep star players in the league.
