Tristan Thompson is getting candid about life as a father of four and how he’s navigating co-parenting across multiple relationships. Speaking on a recent episode of The Katie Miller Podcast, the 35-year-old athlete opened up about the structure behind his blended family.
According to Tristan, known for cheating on Khloé Kardashian on multiple occasions when she was expecting her kids, now their dynamic is different and rooted in communication, mutual respect, and shared priorities. “We’re all friends. We’re all family,” Thompson said. “At the end of the day, we’re all family. We all have each other’s contact info. We’re all in a great place because I think that’s the number one thing.”
Connection appears to be central to how he approaches parenting. Rather than separating households emotionally, he emphasized that everyone involved remains linked through their children. “No matter how you chop it up and no matter how you want to put it together, we’re all tied together,” he added. “We’re all family, and our kids are all siblings, and they’re going to be in each other’s lives for a long time.”
A Blended Family
Thompson shares four children with three different women, including Khloé Kardashian. Despite a complicated public history, he insists the current dynamic is based on emotional maturity. “I think all of us are mature enough to understand what’s the most important thing, and it’s our little tribe,” Thompson explained. “Yeah, I mean co-parenting is great. I mean, the mother of my children, they’ve been amazing.”
He went on to highlight a key factor that makes the arrangement work: alignment in parenting values. “I think the beauty is that all of us are mature enough to understand that we all want to be great as parents and we’re all on the same line of communication,” he said.
That consistency, he suggests, removes friction and creates stability for the children involved.
“We’ve learned that we just want the best for our children, and it’s very easy to co-parent when you have the same beliefs that you want best for the kids, and we’re all mature enough to understand that.”
Thompson also acknowledged that life isn’t always smooth—but maintaining a strong support system keeps things grounded. “You know, life is life-ing, right?” he said. “And I think as long as we have a strong support system and our tribe is tight and we have each other’s back, that’s the most beautiful thing.”
He didn’t hold back when expressing appreciation for the mothers of his children, giving them direct credit for making the situation work. “And I mean, shout out all, you know, shout out my my kids’ mothers. They’re phenomenal. They’re great. They make my life easy.”
