The ’90s sitcom following six New Yorkers as they figure out life in their 20s and 30s might seem like a its own phenomenon, but on this side of the Atlantic, Britain was cooking up a similar comedy series with some well-known names. While the lives of Friends stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and David Schwimmer continue to be followed closely by fans, the cast of British sitcom This Life, for the most part,haven’t received the same level of attention.
We’re taking a look at the cast of Britain’s version of ‘Friends‘ to find out where they went next, from Love Actually to Midsomer Murders.
Jack Davenport is a well-known British actor with signature high-class style

Jack Davenport starred as arrogant law graduate Miles Stewart, his third credited onscreen role. Jack’s signature flair for comedic, high-class characters has brought him success with roles on series like Coupling, Why Women Kill and The Morning Show.
He’s also had a memorable film career, appearing in Pirates of the Caribbean, The Talented Mr Ripley and Kingsman: The Secret Service. He recently appeared on 2025 drama remake The Forsytes and according to his IMDB is currently filming Vivien & The Florist in which he stars as Laurence Olivier.

Sensible Milly was key to the This Life crew, dating Egg during university and later carrying out an affair with her boss O’Donnell. Since leaving the group of law post-grads, she’s appeared on just shy of 100 episodes of The Bill and two episodes of Bridgerton in its third season.
The actress married music producer Bradley Carroll in 1995 and welcomed two daughters, Maeve and Edana.

Edgar ‘Egg’ Cook didn’t find his calling in the legal industry but Andrew Lincoln certainly did onscreen. The BAFTA-nominated actor is best known for his role as Rick Grimes in The Walking Dead between 2010 and 2022, as well as lovesick cameraman Mark in Love Actually.
He most recently starred in drama series Coldwater. The actor married Gael Anderson, daughter of Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson, in 2006 and has since welcomed two children, Matilda and Arthur Clutterbuck.
Daniela has stepped away from the limelight and works as a counsellor

No group of friends is complete without someone who lacks a filter and in This Life, that role was bestowed on wild child Anna. Daniela won a BAFTA (and Scottish BAFTA) for her role on the show in 1998. Since leaving This Life, the Scottish actress won a second Scottish BAFTA in 2009 for Purves + Pekkala, appeared on four episodes of Waterloo Road and TV movie Two Doors Down in 2013.
According to IMDb, her latest project Counsels is in post-production and, like This Life, follows a group of young legal professionals. Daniela took a step back from acting in 2019 and now works as a mental health professional, running her own cognitive behavioural therapy practice in Glasgow.
Jason Hughes was a regular on Midsomer Murders and continues to appear onscreen

Jason Hughes’ Warren Jones was groundbreaking at a time when there were few openly gay main characters on such a mainstream drama. Since his time on This Life, Jason has appeared in Midsomer Murders as Sergeant Ben Jones, as Elliot Taylor in Death in Paradise and as Hugo Digsby in Beyond Paradise.
He married jewellery designer and former actress Natasha Dahlberg in 2005 and the couple share three children. He most recently appeared in Motherwitch, a Greek horror about a mother who accidentally summons an ancient curse.
