In the land of country music, stars can stand to earn big bucks thanks to record sales, merchandising, and tours. Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood are just some of the biggest names in the industry, with these three musicians having managed to crack the code and build their own empires.
And yet, it’s neither Dolly, Reba nor Carrie who can claim the title of the richest country music star – instead, that title belongs to Beyoncé Knowles, who landed on the billionaires list for the first time in December 2025. This makes her the fifth musician to make the list, alongside her husband, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen.
Making music
Beyoncé made her mark on the country music scene in March 2024 with the release of her hit album, Cowboy Carter, which went on to win Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards in 2025, as well as Best Country Album.
The mother of three revealed in her album announcement that she was inspired to write the record after “an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed”.
Fans have speculated that she was referring to the performance of her song “Daddy Lessons” alongside The Chicks at the 2016 Country Music Awards, which drew backlash due to her status as a pop star and R&B singer.
Beyoncé made history as the first Black woman to top the Billboard country music charts in 2024 with her single “Texas Hold ‘Em”. She also raked in a whopping $400 million in gross ticket sales during her Cowboy Carter tour, which ran in 2025 from April through to July and stopped in cities like LA, London, Paris and Atlanta.
She also sold an estimated $50 million in merchandise during the tour, and reportedly brought in a total earning of $148 million in 2025 before taxes, as per Forbes.

Beyoncé has been working in the music industry since 1997, when she debuted in the popular girl group Destiny’s Child.
Aside from her music, the “Halo” singer has expanded into several lines of business, including her haircare brand, Cécred, her clothing line, Ivy Park, and her whisky label, SirDavis.
Beyoncé also makes a pretty penny from her Parkwood Entertainment business, which she formed in 2008. The company holds ownership of her masters recordings and has independently released her music since 2011.
Additionally, Parkwood Entertainment released her musical films, like Black Is King, Homecoming and Beyoncé Bowl, the latter of which brought her an estimated $50 million alone thanks to her Netflix deal.
“When I decided to manage myself, it was important that I didn’t go to some big management company,” she told Billboard.
“I felt like I wanted to follow the footsteps of Madonna and be a powerhouse and have my own empire and show other women when you get to this point in your career, you don’t have to go sign with someone else and share your money and your success – you do it yourself.”
Coming in behind Beyoncé as the second-richest country music star is Dolly Parton, who is worth an incredible $450 million. Meanwhile, Garth Brooks and Shania Twain each boast a net worth of $400 million, and the late Tobey Keith had a reported $400 million too before his death in 2024.
