Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie won’t be with the royal family on Christmas, according to the MailOnline. Instead, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s daughters will reportedly be with their respective in-laws.
HOLA! USA’s sister brand HELLO! reported that it’s understands that it was decided earlier this year that the Princesses would spend the festive period with their respective in-laws for the first time since their marriages.
Eugenie has been married to Jack Brooksbank since 2018. The Princess and her husband share two kids, August Brooksbank and Ernest Brooksbank.
Beatrice wed her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, in 2020. The two are parents to daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. Edo also has a son, Christopher Woolf, from a previous relationship. The Princess is expecting her second child with the founder and CEO of Banda Property.
Buckingham Palace shared in a statement in October, “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three.”
“His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news,” the palace added.
Eugenie and Beatrice’s parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah, will also reportedly be missing Christmas at Sandringham this year. According to the MailOnline, the Duke of York, who has had an alleged Chinese spy linked to him, “has agreed not to embarrass the King further and has voluntarily decided” to miss the Christmas gathering, along with his ex-wife.
Prince Andrew’s office has said (via The Guardian), “The Duke of York followed advice from His Majesty’s Government and ceased all contact with the individual after concerns were raised,” adding, “The Duke met the individual through official channels with nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed.” It’s been reported that the Duke of York and Sarah will likely spend Christmas at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
