Members of the Monégasque royal family came together over the weekend to celebrate 20 years of Prince Albert of Monaco’s reign. The 67-year-old Prince was surrounded by his wife Princess Charlene, their twins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, as well as his two sisters, nieces, nephews and great-nephews at the celebration held on the Palace Square.

Princess Stephanie‘s three kids, Louis Ducruet, Pauline Ducruet and Camille Gottlieb were all in attendance, while only three of Princess Caroline‘s four children, Andrea Casiraghi, Charlotte Casiraghi and Princess Alexandra of Hanover, were at the celebration. Absent from the family gathering on July 19 was Caroline’s younger son, Pierre Casiraghi.

On the same day as the celebration in Monaco, the Admiral’s Cup officially kicked off with a race in the English Channel. Pierre, who is vice president of the Yacht Club de Monaco and the founder of Team Malizia, is at the helm of one of the Monégasque team’s two boats. Per the Yacht Club de Monaco, the Admiral’s Cup is the unofficial world cup for offshore racing. It was announced earlier this year that the Yacht Club de Monaco would be competing in the Admiral’s Cup for the first time this summer.

Pierre spoke about representing Monaco during a press conference on July 18, saying: “Well, for us, we’re a very small country and a yacht club that is relatively young compared to some of the clubs in England. So it’s very important for us… We don’t have so many sports which Monaco is represented because we have very little nationals. We’re about 7,000 nationals. Just the other day I was actually walking in the old town in Monaco and some of the, you know, the elderly people were having a coffee and they read that we performed quite well in the IRC National and they were actually really proud and they said, ‘We’re gonna follow the race.’ So for me it’s something really, really nice and really motivating. So it’s very important and the whole community, sailing community in Monaco is definitely gonna be following the team.”

While Pierre missed his uncle’s celebration on July 19, his wife Beatrice Borromeo and their two sons, Stefano and Francesco, were present. Caroline’s second son and his wife, who have been married since 2015, are expecting their third child. In May, ICON Magazine founder Inga Griese reported that Beatrice is “happily pregnant with a girl after two sons.”
