When he’s not in cowboy mode in the Yellowstone world, Cole Hauser is busy being a dad to three kids in real life. The actor, 50, has kept his family life with his longtime wife Cynthia Daniel and their kids – sons Ryland, 21 and Colt, 17, and daughter Steely Rose, 13 – relatively out of the spotlight, but a rare new photo shows his teen son is growing up to be the spitting image of his famous dad.
Cole took to social media to gush about how “proud” he is of his younger son Colt’s fundraising efforts for a cause close to their family. The actor’s 17-year-old son, who was born in June 2008, stood at the same height as his dad in a newly shared photo posted to the actor’s Instagram. Colt smiled for the camera with his arm wrapped around his dad in a side hug, rocking the same curly head of hair.
“On a day that has effected so many people and their families around the world [World Cancer Day] I’m proud of my son @colthauser_ and his team for what [they’re] doing to raise awareness of [Blood Cancer United],” Cole tagged the organisation, which used to be called the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and helps patients and families battling blood cancers.
Cole shared a link to his son’s donation page for the “wonderful” cause, which contained a written message from Colt. The Yellowstone actor’s wife’s twin sister Brittany Daniel survived Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
Fans react to the uncanny resemblance
Fans couldn’t help but notice the teen looks an awful lot like his dad with the same curly hair. “Always thought Colt looks a lot like you, all your children do in their own ways but Colt has your curls,” one person pointed out in the comments under the photo.
“Woah !!! Your son looks a lot like you,” another person remarked about the resemblance between the father and son, while someone else said they looked like “twins!”.
All about Cole’s 3 kids
Cole and his wife Cynthia have been married since 2006 – but they’ve been together even longer, going back to the ’90s. The pair live in a Florida mansion where they are raising their three children. Cole and his wife welcomed their first child, son Ryland, in September 2004. After welcoming their second son Colt in 2008, the couple went on to have their first daughter, Steely Rose, in December 2012.
Cole occasionally shares photos and updates about his kids to social media. In January 2026, his daughter made a rare public appearance alongside her dad at a basketball game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers in Dallas, Texas.
“I am pretty good about compartmentalising working and family. They are two of my biggest passions,” the actor told The Havok Journal in 2022.
“I am not the kind of guy who forgets about them. I am always making time for each and every one of my children and also my wife, also, as a family together. I am good about making time for the whole family.”
“You have to figure that balance out. But as a father and a husband you have to make the time and work just as hard at it.”
