Lady Kitty Spencer‘s daughter lights up her world. On Tuesday, Princess Diana‘s 34-year-old niece marked her little girl Athena’s second birthday with a moving tribute on Instagram. “Two years of you lighting up our world, my darling Athena š¤ You are sunshine and joy and all things magic,” Kitty penned alongside pictures of her daughter barefoot on a beach. “My little girl forever. How proud I am to be your mummy š¤.”
“I love you more than you could ever imagine or I could ever articulate š¤,” she continued.
Kitty, who married Michael Lewis in 2021, revealed on Motherās Dayāin the UKāin 2024 that she had a child. In a post celebrating the holiday, Charles Spencer‘s eldest child wrote, “Itās the joy of my life to be your mummy, little one. I love you unconditionally š¤ Happy Motherās Day to those who celebrate today š¤.”
At the time, Kitty did not reveal when her little one was born. In an interview with Tatler, published earlier this year, Princess Diana’s niece referred to Athena as a “little Taurus”āthe zodiac sign for people born between April 20th and May 20th, per Horoscope.com. The outlet reported that Athena would turn 2 in April.Ā
Athena celebrated her first birthday last year with what appeared to be an Aristocats-themed party. A photo and video of treats from the celebration were included in a video that Kitty shared this past New Year’s Eve. “Thank you 2024. Feeling huge gratitude for a year of health, happiness, travel & laughter – but most importantly motherhood, love and plenty of family time šāļøš,” she captioned the post. “Wishing everyone a wonderful 2025! Xx.” Ā
Speaking to Tatler in an interview with her sisters, Lady AmeliaĀ and Lady Eliza Spencer, Kitty admitted that she does “a lot less” now that she has a child. “Iām much more selective because itās not really free time any more. Iāve got to really want to do something,” she said. “Iām happy with the balance.”
In the same interview, Kitty described Athena as “very outdoorsy and like a little spinning top.” She also revealed that Athena is “very similar” to her aunts, twins Amelia and Eliza. Kitty said, “Itās so funnyā¦so cool for her when she has these two aunts that come bursting through the door. I donāt think she thinks thereās an age gap.”
“I donāt think we think thereās an age gap,” Amelia added, to which Kitty remarked, “So thereās actually a triplet there for them.”
