Beyoncé’s fans will not get into formation for her latest release.
The billionaire singer has been called out for her “disgusting display of greed” after releasing a limited-edition empty wooden box with a hefty price tag of almost $1,000.
In honor of turning 45 and the 20th anniversary of her second album B’Day, Beyoncé is selling the ‘Bey Keeper Collector’s Box’ for $948.01, a nod to her birthday, September 4, 1981.
With only 500 available, the 18-by-14-inch pine wood crate was “inspired by the beauty of traditional beekeeper crates” and features “custom engraved details,” “a faux gator-skin leather carrying strap with gold hardware,” and is “lined with deep green velvet.”
According to the product description, the box was designed to “house and display your Beyoncé vinyl collection”; however, “vinyls [are] not included” with purchase.
Many of Beyoncé’s fans, affectionately dubbed ‘The Beyhive,’ took issue with the release, slamming the “absurd” price, which some argued should have been $94.81 to honor her birthday instead.
“$1K and it’s an empty box. Beyonce, you have lost your damn mind!” one exclaimed. A second said: “For that price I need you to pop out the box and perform.”
A third added: “This is INSANE. $1,100 (including tax & shipping) for a wooden box. Yeah no one is forcing us to buy it, but this is highly upsetting.”

If Beyoncé saw the backlash, she didn’t let it spoil her birthday, which she spent part of watching her husband, Jay-Z, perform his first of two JAY-Z30 shows at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, celebrating three decades since the release of his landmark debut album, Reasonable Doubt.
The rapper made sure Beyoncé’s 45th birthday was one she would never forget, leading thousands of fans in serenading his wife during his spectacular return to the London stage.

As the crowd joined Jay-Z in singing ‘Happy Birthday,’ Beyoncé appeared on the stadium’s giant screens, smiling and blowing kisses while fireworks exploded into the night sky.
The Cowboy Carter star, dressed casually in a hoodie, was also spotted enthusiastically dancing along to her husband’s performance throughout the night.

But it was Jay-Z‘s very public declaration that provided one of the most personal moments of the night. The couple have traditionally kept much of their marriage away from the spotlight, despite occasionally sharing the stage throughout their relationship.
