Is Zach Braff dating an AI chatbot? While the internet may believe he is, the Scrubs actor put those rumors to rest.
After Jenny Slate, Gabe Liedman, and Max Silvestri revealed on their I Need You Guys podcast that a very well known actor was dating an AI chatbot, the internet seemed to simultaneously agree that that actor was Zach.
“There is an actor who is currently in a romantic relationship with his AI chatbot,” Max said on a December episode featuring comedian Kumail Nanjiani. “And brings the chatbot with him places.”
After Kumail asked the podcast hosts: “How well known is this actor?” Max responded: “As near A-list as TV can get you.”
Max went on: “From my understanding, there is a self-awareness [about how weird dating an AI chatbot is], but in a, ‘Yeah, sorry that you’re not on board with the future.'”

Months after the podcast was first released, Zach finally addressed the rumors to his 1.6 million Instagram followers on Thursday, March 12. He posted a screenshot of the I Need You Guys podcast to his story, writing: “I’m not dating a chatbot.”
The Scrubs actor went on: “I can’t believe I have to type these words. It’s a storyline in an upcoming ep of Scrubs. Maybe it came from that? Not sure. But not me. Love, The guy not dating his chatbot. Please update all gossip sites.”
In the next story, Zach shared a photo of fellow actors Jenny and Kumail, writing: “Also I had no idea until tonight (because I’m not on TikTok) that these folks were the origin of this? I feel like now is a good time to be kind to people.”

While the 50-year-old actor is not dating an AI chatbot, he has dated several real life women. In the early 2000s, Zach dated Mandy Moore for two years. His next serious relationship was with model Taylor Bagley. The couple were together from 2009 to 2014.
Zach’s most recent relationship was with Florence Pugh, with whom he is 20 years older. The two dated for three years, quarantining together during the COVID-19 pandemic and even fostered a puppy named Billie. After they received some criticism for their age gap, Florence shared an Instagram video defending their relationship, saying: “I am 24 years old. I do not need you to tell me who I should and should not love.

So we’ve done that. I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it.”
