Zendaya is addressing the internet’s latest obsession head-on, and she’s doing it with the kind of dry humor that keeps fans guessing. During a March 16 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actress playfully dismissed rumors that she secretly married fiancé Tom Holland.
The speculation didn’t come out of nowhere. It gained traction after her longtime stylist, Law Roach, hinted at a possible marriage while speaking at the 2026 Actor Awards earlier this month. From there, the internet did what it does best, building a full-blown narrative out of fragments.
AI Wedding Photos Spark Fan Frenzy
Things escalated quickly when digitally altered images began circulating online, showing Zendaya and Holland in wedding attire. Some fans took them at face value.
Kimmel didn’t hold back when addressing the viral moment, telling Zendaya, “I’m sure you know the internet has gone berserk with stories that you might actually be married to Tom.”
Her response was pure Zendaya: “Really? I haven’t seen any of that!” The host added that people had even created “AI wedding photos” that looked convincing enough to fool many. Zendaya confirmed just how widespread the confusion became, saying, “Many people have been fooled by them.”
She shared a real-world example of how far the illusion traveled. “I was out and about in real life and people are like, ‘Oh my god, your wedding photos are really gorgeous.’ And I was like, ‘Babe they’re AI. They’re not real.’”
The impact wasn’t limited to fans. When Kimmel asked if anyone in her personal life believed the images, Zendaya admitted, “Yes, many people.”
The “Wedding Footage” Reveal
To clear things up, Zendaya brought what she described as “first time sharing” footage to the show. But instead of a real wedding clip, it turned out to be a scene from her upcoming film, “The Drama.”
In the clip, Zendaya appears as a bride alongside Robert Pattinson, who plays the groom. The twist? A hilariously edited image of Holland’s face was pasted over Pattinson’s.
Kimmel pointed out the obvious, saying it “somewhat closely resembles a scene in the film,” to which Zendaya responded, “Yeah … but it was a beautiful day.”
When he joked that it looked like someone had “crudely pasted Tom’s head over Robert’s head,” Zendaya doubled down with comedic commitment: “No … that was real footage.” Even when pressed again, she stuck to the bit. “No, that was real. I was there.”
Red Carpet Clues Add Fuel to the Fire
The timing of the rumors didn’t help. Just a day before her talk show appearance, Zendaya was spotted at the Academy Awards wearing her engagement ring alongside what appeared to be a gold band, instantly reigniting speculation.
