Anne Hathaway is currently busy promoting the trendiest film of the year – The Devil Wears Prada 2. We’ve spied the stunning Hollywood star globetrotting over the past few weeks. On 16 April, the brunette beauty was spotted in New York City, looking resplendent in a sheer black dress layered beneath a sleeveless, midi-length tailored coat. Dangling elegantly from her wrist was a beautiful handbag by DeMellier.
In keeping with her location, the 43-year-old chose to sport the aptly named ‘New York Shoulder Bag’, which is rectangular in shape, has gold hardware, and a long strap. The perfect top-handled number is timeless in design and can be used for a plethora of occasions.
Another big fan of this brand is the Princess of Wales, who has a fleet of DeMellier bags, including the ‘Hudson’ and the ‘Nano Montreal’. Perhaps Anne is taking tips from the mother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis?
After all, in 2014, while promoting Rio 2, the star told Good Morning America that Kate was her favourite princess, noting, “I think she’s lovely. She makes me very happy, and that royal wedding just could not be beaten.”
Prince William’s wife isn’t the only member of the royal family who has invested in a DeMellier bag, though. In 2018, the Duchess of Sussex stole the world’s attention in Cardiff, Wales, with royal watchers going wild for her stunning forest green ‘Venice’ handbag by the British leather goods company. At the time, DeMellier London founder Mireia Llusia-Lindh told HELLO!: “We are truly honoured that Meghan is wearing one of our bags. She is a fantastic role model to women all over the world and a great addition to the Royal family.”
Queen Camilla also loves this bag, and has both Meghan’s colourway and blush pink.
The cute little bag is practical yet stylish. Made in luxurious calf leather, it’s lightweight and can be worn over the shoulder, cross-body, or carried by its ladylike handle (which is what the wife of King Charles often does).
The 78-year-old first wore the design in racing green in 2018, and it goes perfectly with her tailored coats and jackets.
