She is a current Southeast Asian princess whose name is gaining attention in Europe. Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah has just turned 18. She is the youngest of the 12 children of the billionaire Sultan of Brunei, whose fortune is estimated at 28 billion euros. Her beauty, her talent for mathematics, and the luxurious lifestyle she has grown up in have made her one of the most talked-about young royals today.
Princess Ameerah was born on February 28, 2008. She is the daughter of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his third wife, Azrinaz Mazhar Hakim. They divorced in 2010, and full custody remained with the Sultan. Her parents’ separation shaped her early years. She has one older brother, Prince Abdul Wakeel, as well as ten half-siblings from her father’s first two marriages and two more half-siblings from her mother’s second marriage.
She lives at Istana Nurul Iman, officially the largest palace in the world, with more than 1,700 rooms. Within the complex, she has her own private wing equipped with a pool, cinema, and spa. She frequently travels to Europe and Malaysia on her father’s private jet, and for her most recent birthday, she received a horse adorned with diamond-studded accessories.
Ameerah attends the prestigious Jerudong International School in Kampong Jerudong, a small town about 21 kilometers from the capital. She is known as an outstanding student, particularly strong in mathematics. In March 2023, she won gold in the Intermediate Mathematics Challenge. In September 2024, she earned top grades in eight subjects in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education.
Despite her young age, she already takes part as a member of the Royal Family in state visits to Brunei, investiture ceremonies, and National Day celebrations. Although she has largely remained in the background, she is beginning to stand out for her style and understated Asian elegance. Alongside her brother, Prince Wakeel, she visited the Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition in December 2013 and inaugurated a new area of Jerudong Park in July 2017. A year later, she attended the closing gala of the Fifth ASEAN Children’s Forum in August 2018. In July 2024, she traveled to Kuala Lumpur for the installation of Ibrahim Iskandar of Johor as the 17th King of Malaysia.
