Jelly Roll’s podcaster wife, Bunnie XO, took fans on her plastic surgery journey on Sunday, revealing the before and after effects of her facelift. The 46-year-old shared a video on Instagram that began with her sitting in a hospital bed with a gown and cap on, ready to go into surgery.
She had several pen marks on her face, which indicated the points that the surgeon would alter. The video then switched to her lying in bed after the surgery was completed, with a swollen face wrapped in bandages. “I look like Beret Kreischer,” she wrote over the video, and captioned it: “Day One.” Bunnie’s surgeon, Dr. Daniel J. Gould, shared further insight into his patient’s experience going under the knife.
“Nobody needs plastic surgery, nobody needs a facelift,” he began in a social media video, adding that she was a “beautiful human being”.
“But she came to me because she wanted to improve that little bit of heaviness and laxity in the neck, improve slightly the position of the cheek and add a little bit of volume where she’s lost it before,” he continued.
“When you’re operating on younger patients who already look good, you have to be really thoughtful and careful in order to deliver a result that’s consistent with their anatomy…She’s a little bruised, a little swollen, but she’s healing nicely.”
The podcaster, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, has been open about her plastic surgery journey and shared on her Dumb Blonde podcast in March that she would be receiving a facelift. “I’ll be getting my facelift on Sunday, [March] 15th,” she told her listeners. “So send lots of prayers for your girl.”
“I’m gonna look crazy, guys. I’m gonna be bruised. It’s gonna be a little weird. Don’t freak out,” she continued. The star has undergone cosmetic procedures in the past, including a Brazilian butt lift, lip fillers, and breast implants, which she later had removed.
In a January episode of the podcast, Bunnie shared the reason behind her decision to receive plastic surgery again. “Some lady said to me, she was like, ‘At least wait until you’re 45 to get a facelift,'” the blonde beauty recalled. “I’m like, ‘Lady, I’m going to be 46 in two weeks.'”
“Yes, I love natural bodies,” she continued. “I preach against, you know, plastic surgery that I’ve had that I wish I hadn’t gotten. A facelift is not one of them. If you have listened to previous podcasts, I have literally said for the past three years, I’m going to get a facelift when I’m 46.”
Bunnie and her husband, Jelly Roll (Bradley DeFord), have both taken fans along for the ride on their respective weight loss journeys, with the singer losing almost 300 lbs since 2022.
Meanwhile, Bunnie tried GLP-1 medication to achieve weight loss results, in a move which she revealed was detrimental to her health. GLP-1s act to suppress appetite and regulate blood sugar, and are typically given to diabetes patients.
“Both my parents had diabetes. So my insulin numbers are really crazy, and my body just cannot tolerate it,” she told People. “That was one of the darkest times of my life, and it was scary. I prided myself on the fact that I only had anxiety. I never had depression [before then]…oh, it was horrific.”
