Charli XCX knows how to own a red carpet – and at the Berlin premiere of The Moment during the 76th Berlinale International Film Festival, she did exactly that.
The Moment is a 2026 American mockumentary film directed by Aidan Zamiri, who co-wrote it with Bertie Brandes from an original idea by Charli. The film stars Charli, Rosanna Arquette, Kate Berlant, Jamie Demetriou, Hailey Benton Gates, Isaac Powell, and Alexander Skarsgård.
The British pop star, 33, turned up the heat at the Zoopalast in a striking strapless black gown that was equal parts Old Hollywood and modern edge. Crafted from glossy satin, the dress hugged her frame before cascading into a dramatic draped silhouette, complete with a daring thigh-high split that showcased her legs with every step.
The bodice was sleek and structured, sitting straight across her décolletage and drawing attention to her shoulders and collarbone. The fabric gathered artfully at the waist, creating soft folds that added movement and dimension to the otherwise minimalist look. It was proof that when the cut is this sharp, you don’t need embellishment.
Charli paired the gown with pointed black stilettos and kept accessories refined but impactful – opting for a delicate diamond choker layered with a second sparkling necklace that caught the flash of the cameras. Her dark hair was worn long and loose in soft, glossy waves, parted down the centre to frame her face. The beauty look leaned into understated glamour: bronzed skin, sculpted cheekbones, softly defined eyes and a muted nude lip. It was sultry without trying too hard – very on-brand.
Set against the bold blue Berlinale backdrop, Charli’s monochrome moment stood out for its confidence. There was no gimmick, no theatrical flourish – just a woman entirely at ease in her own aesthetic.
The appearance comes amid another career high for the singer-songwriter, who has spent the past decade evolving from underground hyperpop darling to chart-dominating powerhouse. With hits like Boom Clap, 1999 and her critically acclaimed experimental releases, Charli has built a reputation for constantly pushing boundaries – musically and stylistically.
Charli has starred in both film and television acting roles, and is set to appear in even more productions in 2026.
“I am really enjoying my acting journey,” Charli told Variety in August 2025. “I feel very, very inspired at the moment in that field, I feel unbelievably creative, and I only ever want to do things that inspire me and make me feel energized.”
Her turn at the Berlinale premiere signals yet another expansion of her creative world, as she continues to blur the lines between music, film and fashion.
