Chuck Norris, martial arts legend and Hollywood star, has died at the age of 86. His death was confirmed by his family, who shared a moving tribute on social media.
Chuck Norris, born Carlos Ray Norris, was hospitalized in Hawaii this past Thursday. Following his death, his family shared a black-and-white photo of Norris and a lengthy statement, sharing that he was supported by his family at the last stages of his life.
“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace,” reads the statement.
“To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family.”

Chuck Norris was one of Hollywood’s biggest action stars, using his skills as a Martial Arts practitioner in his most famous roles. Throughout his career, Norris starred alongside icons like Bruce Lee in “The Way of the Dragon.” He also starred in noteworthy ’70s and ’80s films like “The Delta Force,”“Missing in Action,” “Good Guys Wear Black,” and more. Norris then transitioned to television, starring in “Walker, Texas Ranger,” a CBS show that ran from 1993 to 2001.
Norris is survived by his wife, Gena O’Kelley, his children Eric, Mike, Dakota, Danilee, and Dina, and numerous grandkids.
