Cyndi Lauper certainly knows how to have fun!

The iconic singer stole the show on Saturday June 20 during a special concert in the Bahamas over her birthday weekend.

Cyndi made sure to impress with her three costume changes, which included a white oversized shirt mini dress with sheer sleeves and a black corset, which she teamed with a pair of black knee-high socks and boots. The singer wore her purple hair styled in a high ponytail and a vibrant red lipstick to complete the look.

On the night, Cyndi performed many of her beloved hits, including “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “Time After Time,” “True Colors” and “When You Were Mine.”

The star enjoyed a stay at The Cove, the hotel’s all-suite luxury retreat – which has many famous fans including Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Cyndi had shared a preview of what fans could expect ahead of the concert, taking to Instagram two days before the concert to post footage of her walking on the beach, along with a past clip of her on stage.

She wrote: “Bahamas! We’re here. Can’t wait to see you at my show tomorrow (6/20) at @atlantisbahamas! And you know it’s my birthday weekend so it’s gonna be a big party.”

The singer shot to fame in the eighties, releasing her debut solo studio album, She’s So Unusual, in 1983. The album was the first ever debut made by a female artist to feature four top-five singles on the Billboard Hot 100 – “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” “Time After Time,” “She Bop,” and “All Through the Night.”

Cyndi’s style is just as iconic and she previously opened up about how her music helped forge her sense of identity and fashion.

“I worked in a vintage clothing store and I felt comfortable enough in my own skin to create a look that was unique. And the music also empowered me. I actually would add tulle onto things because I always felt I’m too small and when I went on stage I wanted to be bigger. I wanted bigger hair,” she said during an appearance on Project Runway in 2020.

The singer’s hair is also just as memorable as her outfits. In an interview with Good Morning America, Cyndi shared that her half-shaved head in the “Time After Time” music video symbolized rebellion at a time when women were “haunted by the image of their mother in a life of drudgery.”

“Cutting my hair in that way would also be a rebellious act, one culture fighting to move away from a more oppressive culture for women,” she said.

“The hair symbolized a counterculture and rebellion, and that was significantly important to me. If you’re going to color your hair, you might as well … color it a color. “From the clothing to the hair to the makeup, it symbolized one culture fighting to move away from a more oppressive culture for women.”
