George Clooney is ‘sick’ over Presley Gerber’s death as he visits Kaia’s home

As more details come out surrounding Presley Gerber’s heartbreaking death, it’s his family and friends who are mourning the hardest. While the family has maintained their privacy, George Clooney was photographed standing by Presley’s family 

George and his wife, Amal Clooney, were photographed arriving at Kaia Gerber’s Los Angeles home on Tuesday, two days after Presley died at age 27.

The Clooneys and Gerbers have been friends for decades and are part of the same close-knit circle, and George and Rande are best friends. But Clooney’s connection to the family goes beyond his friendship with the patriarch. 

He has known Presley and Kaia since they were children and was reportedly considered a member of the family himself. “George is sick over this because Rande is his best friend and everyone felt for Presley,” a source told the Daily Mail.

A source close to George told the Daily Mail that the actor had remained in contact with Presley over the years, including during some of his more difficult periods, and they shared a close bond. 

“George would spend hours talking to Presley,” the source said. “George is the nicest guy in the world and would do anything to help Rande’s family.”

The source said Clooney had also tried to offer Presley advice following his 2018 DUI. “Don’t do that, it’s not smart. Be careful,” the Ocean’s Eleven star reportedly told him.

More recently, the source claimed Clooney continued to check in on Presley, sending letters of support. “I am here for you,” Clooney reportedly wrote.

“He knew Presley had his struggles, so while you can’t say something like this was completely unimaginable, that doesn’t make it any less shocking or devastating,” another industry source said.

How George Clooney became close with the Gerber family

George’s relationship with the Gerbers began with Rande, long before Presley and Kaia were household names.

The two met in the 1990s when George was in New York filming a movie, and Rande owned a bar at the Paramount Hotel. They quickly became friends, and eventually turned into business partners.

In 2013, George, Rande, and Mike Meldman launched Casamigos tequila. The company went on to become a major success before being sold to Diageo in 2017.

Their friendship also grew into a family connection after Rande married supermodel Cindy Crawford in 1998.

Presley was born in 1999, followed by Kaia in 2001, and Clooney remained a familiar presence in their lives as they grew up.

The families spent time together at each other’s homes and traveled together, according to the Daily Mail. 

The outlet’s sources said the Gerbers would visit Clooney in Italy, while the families also spent time together in Mexico and New York.

“George was around Presley a lot when he was growing up,” one source told the outlet. “He was Uncle George, and they were all pals, really like family.”
