While many viewers recognize her as Nikki Freeman in the viral thriller, there’s much more to the rising star than her standout performance.

1. Inde Navarrette isn’t her real name:

The actress was born Danielle Fabiola Navarrette on March 3, 2001. According to multiple profiles, the nickname “Inde” came from her mother, who began calling her that because she was fiercely independent as a child. The name eventually stuck and became her professional identity.

2. She comes from a multicultural family:

Navarrette was born in Tucson, Arizona, to an Australian mother and a Mexican father. Her father’s military career meant the family moved frequently while she was growing up, exposing her to different communities and cultures from an early age.

The actress has often spoken about the influence of her Mexican family on her life, including how they introduced her to horror films at a young age, a genre that would later become an important part of her career.

3. She attended 11 different schools before turning 15:

Constant relocation became a major part of her childhood. By the time she was 15 years old, Navarrette had attended 11 schools, an experience she has credited with helping her adapt quickly and connect with different people. These skills later benefited her acting career.

4. She was a Twitch streamer before becoming a horror star:

Long before ‘Obsession,’ Navarrette spent time building an audience online through gaming. She streamed titles such as ‘Call of Duty,’ ‘Halo,’ ‘Red Dead Redemption’ and ‘Fallout,’ and even built her own gaming PC during the pandemic. Old clips from her Twitch days have recently resurfaced as fans discover her pre-Hollywood life.

Before landing her breakout horror role, Navarrette appeared as Estela de la Cruz in the fourth season of the hit Netflix series ’13 Reasons Why.’ The role helped introduce her to a wider audience and opened the door to larger projects.
