Good Morning America viewers have grown accustomed for a decade to seeing the trio of Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan take them through the morning’s biggest headlines.
However, for the past week, the standard trio hasn’t been seen together, with one or the other anchor off the clock, the longest absences courtesy of Robin and Michael.
When was Robin Roberts last on GMA?
At the tail end of May, Robin, 65, shared on social media that she’d quickly ducked away to Cape Town, South Africa to film a project for Lifetime TV, starring Sherri Shepherd.
Robin was also joined by her wife Amber Laign. The GMA anchor runs her own production company, Rock’n Robin Productions, which is presumably part of the project as well.
She did return to the show soon after, but was last on the air on Wednesday, June 3, aka the day of the very first game of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, which was the topic of conversation for much of the broadcast.
Where is Robin now?
GMA fans needn’t worry, though, as Robin shared on social media earlier in the week that she is simply off on assignment. While she didn’t reveal where she was, she did post one of her morning prayers with her beloved Glam Fam, so is likely on an ABC-related project.
“On the road again with Glam Fam! Even though we can’t reveal where we are it’s not going to stop us from sharing with you a lil #mondaymotivation in 3-2-1,” she captioned her clip.
When was Michael Strahan last on GMA?
While Robin has been off for an entire week as of writing, Michael, 54, has been gone for a shorter period so far. His last appearance on the show was on Friday, June 5, when he co-anchored the morning news show with Whit Johnson and Rebecca Jarvis, in for Robin and George.
Where is Michael now?
Unlike Robin, Michael hasn’t shared what he’s been up to during his time off, nor has the show. The former NFL pro does balance other hosting gigs as well, including the host of ABC’s The $100,000 Pyramid and NFL on FOX during the season.
Michael’s last social media post was on Monday, in time for the Knicks’ third game against the Spurs (which they lost 115-111), with Michael sharing a collection of throwbacks from himself courtside. “Game 3 tonight!! New York, I know y’all are ready. Let’s keep this thing rolling! GO KNICKS!!”
Michael and Robin’s replacements
ABC News’ chief business, economics, and technology correspondent Rebecca, who also serves as a contributing anchor for GMA, has been stepping in to sub for Robin for the past week.
Rachel Scott, ABC News’ senior political correspondent, has been a replacement for the two anchors on the show since Monday, June 8, joining Rebecca and George.
