Noah Wyle made his comeback return to the screen in the 2025 medical drama series The Pitt. His role as Dr. Michael Robinavitch earned him a staggering fortune and he also served as an executive producer on the show.
However, the actor’s financial journey hasn’t always been smooth. After his breakout role as Dr. John Carter on ER, Noah experienced a challenging period. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he now has an estimated fortune of $10 million – though it could have been significantly higher. HELLO! takes a closer look at the star’s life and earnings.
Noah was born in 1971 in Hollywood, California. His mother’s occupation was a head nurse, while her father was an electrical engineer. The actor studied theater at Northwestern University before returning to Los Angeles and training with Larrry Moss.
The star rose to fame playing medical student Dr. John Carter in ER. During his time on the show, he earned five Emmy nominations and three Golden Globe nominations. Noah left the series in Season 11.
According to reports, Noah eventually earned nearly $9 million per season for ER, but in an interview, he revealed that he faced financial struggles before landing his role in The Pitt.
“Well, not to make it a sob story, but everything I pretty much had made and earned on ER, I spent,” he told GQ. “I’d taken it down to the studs a couple years ago, to the point where I was doing work for the money, for the experience, and for the need to work.”
He added: “But I was looking at the rest of my career [thinking], ‘Let’s shrink this footprint down and turn it into something that’s sustainable and manageable.”
Noah tied the knot to makeup artist Tracy Warbin in 2000 and the pair welcomed two children, Owen and Auden, before divorcing in 2010. In 2014, he married Sara Wells, and the couple share one child together, Frances Harper.
Noah opened up to People in a 2025 interview about becoming a father and how it shifted his perspective on acting. “I suddenly was very conscious of the things that my kids would be watching their father do or say…You know, I’d rather play good guys,” he said.
Noah acquired a 45-acre ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley for $2.5 million in 1999. In the following years, he expanded the estate into an 80-acre compound. However, in 2020, he listed the ranch for $6.45 million, before pulling it off the market a few months later.
Noah starred as Dr. Michael ‘Robby’ Robinavitch in the hit HBO show The Pitt. In September 2025, he earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and the show also won Outstanding Drama Series.
