The Trump family is going through a challenging time, as one of its members has shared a delicate health update. Vanessa Trump, Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-wife and the mother of his children, recently revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and is working with her doctors on a treatment plan.
After sharing this unexpected news, the former daughter-in-law of the current president has received numerous expressions of support, including one from her former sister-in-law, Ivanka Trump.
On May 21, after Vanessa shared a statement on Instagram revealing her diagnosis, Ivanka showed up in the comments section to express her love and well wishes. Although her marriage to Don Jr. ended nearly eight years ago, her relationship with the famous family remains close. In fact, it is common to see the mother of five at Trump family events.
“Praying for your continued strength and a speedy recovery. Love you, mama,” Ivanka Trump commented almost immediately after Vanessa announced her health battle. This brief but heartfelt message, which garnered thousands of likes, highlighted the closeness and affection between the former sisters-in-law, who also share the common bond of motherhood.
Vanessa is the mother of Kai Madison, Donald John III, Tristan Milos, Spencer Frederick, and Chloe Sophia, while Ivanka shares Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick, and Theodore James with her husband Jared Kushner.
Tiffany Trump, another of Vanessa’s former sisters-in-law, reacted to the post with a like, as did Don Jr. The president’s eldest son is about to get married again, and it is unknown whether the diagnosis of his children’s mother will change his plans
Ivanka Trump Speaks on Husband Jared Kushner’s Cancer Diagnosis
Cancer is not an unfamiliar topic for Ivanka Trump, as she has witnessed a battle against the disease before. A few years ago, her husband Jared Kushner was diagnosed with thyroid cancer on two separate occasions. Last month, while appearing as a guest on The Diary of a CEO podcast, the socialite opened up about this challenging time in her life.
Ivanka shared that she decided to go to therapy following “some of the health-related issues with Jared,” referring to his second cancer diagnosis. After serving as an advisor during her father’s first term, she decided not to return to the role for his second term, choosing instead to focus on her family. “I had just moved from Washington. Our life was in flux. Jared was diagnosed with thyroid cancer for the second time, and then my mother passed away,” she said emotionally, recalling the difficult period.
Jared secretly battled thyroid cancer and underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his throat while serving as an advisor to Trump during his first term, as he revealed in his book Breaking History: A White House Memoir. In 2022, after leaving the White House, he underwent a second thyroid surgery.
