James Martin is unrecognizable following a 3st weight loss

James Martin looked happier and healthier than ever as he stepped out with fiancée Kim Johnson at the TRIC Awards on Tuesday night. 

Although, it was the celebrity chef’s remarkable weight loss transformation – not the lovebirds comfortable display – that really got fans talking. 

James, 53, cut a dashing figure on the carpet, appearing noticeably slimmer as he posed alongside his soon-to-be wife in a rare public outing. Dressed in a smart grey tailored suit, crisp white shirt and black shoes, James radiated confidence – while fitness coach Kim was effortlessly elegant by his side. 

Kim, 39, was striking in a cobalt mid length dress, cinched at the waist with a shimmering brown belt and complimenting silver studded heels.

The pair were loved-up as they arrived at the star-studded event, and the appearance marks another milestone in James’ wellness journey, which has seen him embrace a healthier lifestyle in recent years. 

Seven years after being diagnosed with facial skin cancer, the TV chef said his cancer journey left him experiencing “debilitating pain” in the years following.

James was first diagnosed in 2018 and had to undergo multiple surgeries. He revealed that the cancer returned “on several occasions,” requiring further treatments and operations.

Today, James feels healthier and more optimistic. Speaking to Candis magazine last year, he shared: “This is the first time in six years that I feel as fit as a fiddle.” His recovery has given him a fresh outlook on life, shifting from focusing on difficulties to future ambitions. 

One of which, evidently, is his new found romance with personal trainer Kim, who confirmed early this year that the Saturday Kitchen star had proposed over Christmas.

Indeed, The Sun reported that she shared a photo of a dish he had made with the caption “so proud of my fiancé”.

Fans say it is a somewhat surprising development for the pair, who have been dating for two years, given that James had previously ruled out ever walking down the aisle. “Marriage doesn’t interest me in the slightest, mainly because I’ve catered for so many weddings, really,” he told the Sunday People in 2019.

However it seems the star’s relationship with Kim over the last two years has changed his perspective on marriage, as fans couldn’t help but notice the dazzling rock on her finger in recent snaps.

It is sure the chef has had help from his sporty partner, but to achieve his transformation, James noted having to significantly adjust his diet, swapping unhealthy snacks for fish and butter. 

Discussing his diet on the Spooning with Mark Wogan podcast, he admitted: “I’ve decided that I maybe need to stay clear away from these [picks up a Twix bar] and stuff like that and maybe eat fish, and it’s worked.”
