Jenna Bush Hager revealed that her three young children had taken to calling her an offensive nickname, with its origins in internet slang. The TV personality shared on Wednesday’s episode of Today with Jenna and Sheinelle that her kids, Mila, 13, Poppy, 10, and Hal, six, were calling her “Biggie” at home, after picking it up at school.
“My children have brought home a term that I wish they’d left at the old door,” Jenna explained. “They call me Biggie. They’re like, ‘Okay, Biggie!’ And I’m like, ‘Excuse me?’ They’re like, ‘Whatever, Biggie!'”
“I’m like, ‘Mila, stop saying this.’ Hal’s gonna go to school, and his teacher’s gonna be like, ‘Now, Hal, please turn in your homework.’ And he’s gonna be like, ‘No way, Biggie!'” she continued, before adding that her kids also gave the nickname to her husband, Henry Hager.
“You know what it stems from?” she asked her co-star, Sheinelle Jones. “The root word is ‘Big Back’…[Mila] has simplified it just to Biggie.”
“Part of me at first found it to be…I like humor in words, so I was like, ‘Oh, that’s creative.’ But I’m like, ‘Stop calling everybody Biggie. It’s gonna spread,'” she concluded.
Jenna’s eldest child is certainly not afraid to challenge her mother, and even gave her some honest advice ahead of the Today star’s meeting with Queen Camilla during the royal’s visit to the US.
“I really have been preparing because it wasn’t just the interview. I also hosted a panel. I also had to introduce the Queen – imagine having to introduce the Queen!” Jenna told Sheinelle in April. “It was a lot on my plate.”

“Mila actually said, ‘You’re talking too much about yourself,'” she continued. “I woke up at four in the morning yesterday, and I changed the introduction.” The teen, who also noted that her mom’s hair “needed some work”, then sent her a sweet message after the meeting.
“She wrote me on her iPad when she got home from school, ‘Where are you?’ And I said, ‘I’m still in the city. I just interviewed the queen.’ And she goes, ‘Proud of [you]’…She’s never said that to me before. So I feel good about it.”
“I also think it’s really amazing that she gave me advice on something,” Jenna said. “And I was like, ‘You know what? She’s right.'”
Jenna reunited with Queen Camilla 11 years after the royal first visited former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush in the White House. During the 2005 trip that Camilla took with her husband, King Charles, they attended a dinner at the White House alongside Jenna and her husband, Henry.
“I love it that we can be back together,” the TV host told Camilla. “And loving books,” the 78-year-old added. “As many of us have long suspected, books really are good for us. They also have a magical way of bringing people together with their ability to transcend any barrier.”
