Kaia Gerber and Homer Gere have teamed up for a raunchy new project, more than 30 years after their parents, Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere, ended their romance. The budding stars will act together in the upcoming Ryan Murphy-led series, The Shards, based on the book by Bret Easton Ellis of American Psycho fame.
Fans got their first glimpse of Kaia and Homer in the highly anticipated series as they posed underwater in a pool for the official poster. While Homer was shirtless and clad in black boxer shorts as he stared moodily off into the distance, Kaia swam by his side in a blue one-piece swimsuit, her brunette locks swaying in the water.
In another shot, the five main cast members stood at the edge of the pool posing for the camera, with Homer pushing his hand through his hair and Cindy looking just like her model mother.
The Shards follows a serial killer who stalks the rich kids of LA in the ’80s, with the official synopsis reading: “Igby Rigney stars as Bret, an aspiring writer and keenly observant teenager whose reality begins to unravel with the arrival of a mysterious and magnetic new student, Robert Mallory (Homer Gere).”
“Transferring in just before his senior year, Robert’s appearance coincides with the growing terror of The Trawler, a serial killer targeting teenagers across the city,” the synopsis continued.
“Alongside Bret is his elite social circle, which includes Susan Reynolds (Kaia Gerber), Debbie Schaffer (Hayes Warner) and Thom Wright (Graham Campbell), a glamorous and deeply entangled group drawn into a life of wealth, beauty, parties and excess.”
The upcoming series marks the first time Kaia and Homer have worked together. Their parents, Cindy and Richard, were married from 1991 to 1995, and shared a 17-year age gap.

Following their split, Cindy married businessman Rande Gerber, and the pair welcomed Kaia and her brother, Presley. Meanwhile, Richard wed Bond girl Carey Lowell and welcomed Homer with her in 2000 before they split in 2013.
Cindy has been open about her romance with Richard in the past, and shared that their significant age gap caused several issues in the relationship.

“I think part of the problem in our relationship was that we were a lot of other things, but I don’t know if we were ever friends – like peers, because I was young, and he was Richard Gere,” she said on WTF with Marc Maron. “And then, as I started kind of growing up and growing into myself – it’s hard to change the nature of a relationship once you’re already in it.”
