LeAnn Rimes revealed that she has been on the mend and spending more time with her husband of 15 years, Eddie Cibrian, after being forced to cancel several shows due to her ongoing health issues.
The country superstar took to Instagram to share insight into life on the road with Eddie as she returned to touring the US, and explained that the couple were taking time to reconnect after a tough year.
“Turns out, a cross-country road trip with a horse trailer, a mystery tractor-ish thing, far too many bags and enough snacks to cross several countries was always going to produce some good footage,” she wrote, alongside a carousel of photos.
“There were questionable roadside sightings, car karaoke, a LOT of gas station potty breaks, incredible food and a few moments that probably should’ve stayed off camera… but didn’t,” she added, before directing her fans to her Substack, where the footage had been posted.
The first photo in LeAnn’s carousel saw her leaning against an old mailbox, dressed in a patterned yellow dress and cowboy hat.
She also included a snap of her sitting on a park bench next to a statue of Mark Twain, and followed it up with a sweet picture of her and Eddie spending time in a hot tub together while looking out over a spectacular view.
LeAnn’s fans couldn’t have been happier for her as she enjoyed time with her husband on the road, with one writing: “Traveling is the most unstressed reset on life love it!” while another added: “Time spent together and memories for a lifetime,” and a third chimed in: “The last picture is what its ALL about,” referring to the snap with Eddie.
The 44-year-old’s update comes just months after she was forced to cancel several shows on her 30 Years of Blue tour due to a health crisis. LeAnn was diagnosed with COVID-19 and laryngitis on tour, which caused damage to her throat and vocal cords.
At the same time, she and Eddie were dealing with an illness in the family after a parent ended up in rehab following to a stroke. “Lately, I’ve been moving a bit slower due to this lingering illness,” LeAnn began in her Substack newsletter in May.
“My energy is returning, even though my throat is still an inflamed, swollen fireball…and having a little more energy has meant that I’ve started to be able to move my body again.”
In a Substack piece posted a week prior, she shared insight into the family turmoil they were experiencing. “I feel like life has stripped me down and stripped everything back for the moment,” she said.
“Eddie and I are both only children, which means a lot has fallen onto my sweet husband’s shoulders,” she added, referring to his efforts to support the sick parent. “Watching someone you love carry so much while you’re barely able to carry yourself is its own kind of heartbreak.” She added that watching “your loved ones hurt while you’re hurting yourself is just…a lot.”
