Marcello Hernández is still processing one unforgettable moment from Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce‘s star-studded wedding, and it had nothing to do with the bride and groom.
The Saturday Night Live comedian recently revealed that meeting Tom Cruise at the couple’s July 3 wedding was the biggest surprise of the evening. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Hernández said the Hollywood icon completely caught him off guard.
Marcello Hernández Reveals the Most Surprising Wedding Guest
When host Andy Cohen asked Hernández about the “most surprising thing” he witnessed at Swift and Kelce’s lavish celebration, the comedian answered without hesitation. “The most surprising thing I saw at the wedding was Tom Cruise,” Hernández said. “I got to talk to Tom Cruise, and he grew up in a house full of women, and we got to relate about that.”

Before Hernández could share more details about his chat with Cruise, fellow guest Kevin Hart playfully interrupted with a story that had the audience laughing.

He continued with a playful accusation. “You were like, ‘Kev, I can’t believe this. There’s no phones allowed but look, I snuck mine in.’ Right, remember?”
Hernández immediately denied the claim while laughing. “I didn’t do that! Hey, yo, Trav, I did not do that!”
Tom Cruise Left a Lasting Impression on Multiple Guests
Hernández wasn’t the only attendee who walked away talking about Cruise. Sports broadcaster Joe Buck also described meeting the Mission: Impossible star as one of the highlights of the evening.
Buck called the Madison Square Garden wedding a “pretty surreal” experience because of the incredible guest list. “Being 57 years old, to get to talk to Tom Cruise for 20 minutes was better than any part of the entire night to me, other than watching them get married.”

Former NFL tight end Greg Olsen also recalled a memorable interaction with Cruise during cocktail hour. While waiting in line for the restroom, Olsen heard someone compliment his hat. “Hey, hey… dude, I love your hat.” When he turned around, he realized it was Cruise. “I was like, ‘Thank you, man. How nice is it to meet you, Tom Cruise.'”
Olsen said the pair chatted for several minutes before going their separate ways. Reflecting on the experience, he admitted it felt surreal. “Did I just shoot the s— with Tom Cruise?” He also joked that he had one important detail covered before shaking the actor’s hand: “I did wash my hands, thankfully, before I shook his hand.”
