Having been axed from MasterChef by the BBC in 2025, Gregg Wallace is set to relocate. The former TV judge, 61, revealed last week that he and his wife, Anne-Marie Sterpini, 38, along with their six-year-old son, Sid, will be moving to Italy.
Now, Gregg has made a rare admission about his marriage. Taking on Instagram on Monday, the presenter shared a selfie featuring himself and his wife, who goes by Anna, with a hilly landscape backdrop.
“I got quite a response when I said I’ve never had to work at this relationship. We have never had a row,” Gregg penned in the caption. “We may disagree, but it’s never turned into an argument. I so admire my wife, her blend of strength and kindness.”
Why is Gregg Wallace moving to Italy?
The selfie came just shortly before Gregg took to his Instagram Stories on Monday from his back garden at the home he is set to move out of in Kent. He spoke about having recently been asked by fans why he chooses to share information about his private life on social media, saying: “I’ve learnt that if I don’t share my story clearly and honestly, then other people will tell my story incorrectly.”
Followers can assume that Gregg was referring to the revelation that he is moving to Italy, which he shared via a message on social media last week.
As per Kent Online, Gregg took to Instagram to reveal the reason behind the move. “I can’t have the life I used to have, but whether you choose to believe it or not, I really wanted to come out of that anyway. Obviously not in the dramatic way that I did.
“But now, I’ve got some choices, and I’m sure I’m not alone in this,” he continued. “I want to ease off a little bit, I want to relax a little bit, but also that comes also with wanting financial security for me and my family, because I’ve got a wife that’s much younger than me and a special needs little boy, Sid.
“So I want to relax a little bit and at the same time make sure that I can have a certain lifestyle and that I leave a legacy for my family.”
He has described the move as creating a “life of adventure” and has also revealed his plans to homeschool Sid, whom Gregg publicly revealed was diagnosed with autism in 2022.
Gregg is removed from MasterChef
It comes after Gregg was removed from his role on MasterChef in July 2025 as a result of an inquiry into alleged misconduct. At the time, the BBC reported that over 50 people approached the organisation with claims about the TV presenter.
Gregg claimed he had been cleared of “the most serious and sensational allegations” made against him. He added in an Instagram statement: “I recognise that some of my humour and language, at times, was inappropriate. For that, I apologise without reservation. But I was never the caricature now being sold for clicks.”
