Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso are celebrating their daughter’s birthday. Gia Damon is turning 18, a special birthday. She celebrated at Disneyland with her parents and siblings.
In photos captured at the emblematic theme park, Damon, Barroso, and their kids are seen wearing matching T-shirts. They posed for a group photo standing in front of a giant pumpkin Mickey Mouse statue.
Damon stands in the middle of the group, wearing a shirt that reads “Birthday Crew.” He’s flanked by Gia, who wears a shirt that reads “Birthday girl.” He completes the look with a Red Sox’s cap. Barroso stands next to him and wears a black T-shirt that she paired with matching shorts, sunglasses, and a cap.
The group is made up of Damon and Barroso’s daughters: Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, Gia, and Stella, 15. They were also accompanied by Alexia’s boyfriend, who smiled for the photos.
They were all seen wearing shorts and sneakers, looking prepared to spend the day out walking around the entire park.
Damon’s close relationship with his four daughters
Over the past year, Matt Damon has been supported by his daughters as he promotes the biggest project of his career. Damon starred in “The Odyssey,” Christopher Nolan’s most recent film and one of the year’s most acclaimed projects that’s expected to earn numerous Academy Awards. Damon is one of the year’s favorites for the Best Actor category.
He’s opened up about the challenging nature of the shoot, revealing that he lost a lot of weight and trained consistently to develop the look of a Greek warrior from ancient times. It was a shoot that took a toll on his kids.
Alexia, Isabella, Gia, and Stella have joined Damon and Barroso throughout the film’s premieres, traveling to cities like Seoul and London. “It’s great because they had to sacrifice a lot too for this,” Damon told PEOPLE. “I went away for a while, they came and visited, but it was a lot. It was a very long movie, very grueling shoot, and I’m really excited for my girls to see it tonight.”
In other interviews, Damon revealed how he and his wife are preparing to become empty nesters. “We have family dinner every night, and that’s non-negotiable, and it’s always been that way,” he said.
