Meet the real-life loves of The Big Bang Theory cast – including former Miss India and a secret marriage

Kaley Cuoco, 40, who plays Penny in the sitcom and marries Johnny’s Leonard, found love in her real life with her partner Ozark star Tom Pelphrey, 43. 

The pair of actors met in April 2022 while Tom was working on the Netflix hit and Kaley attended the season four premiere. 

Around one year later, the couple welcomed their daughter, Matilda Carmine Richie Pelphrey, on 30 March 2023 and were engaged the following summer. 

Opening up about her relationship, Kaley told USA Today: “I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting. It hit me. It was love at first sight. We were immediately connected. I do feel like I’ve known him my whole life, but I wasn’t ready for him.” 

She recently celebrated their anniversary with a sweet Instagram tribute and penned a caption that read: “3. Love you more than ever @tommypelphrey. Tea-time for life,” with a red heart emoji. 

Sheldon actor Jim Parsons enjoyed a complicated relationship with Amy Farrah Fowler, played by Mayim Bialik on-screen; however, in reality, he has been with his partner, Todd Spiewak, since 2002. 

The 53-year-old and the graphic designer/film producer first met in a karaoke bar on a blind date over 20 years ago. 

Tying the knot on 13 May 2017, Jim opened up about his wedding day and revealed it was “much more meaningful” than he had anticipated. During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he said: “I had been an adult gay person for so long at a time where that wasn’t possible where life was ‘fine’ for me. It’s been resonantly much more meaningful for me afterward than I ever saw coming.”

When Jim won his third Emmy for playing the beloved character, he dedicated the award to his “favorite person on the planet, Todd Spiewak”.

Away from her work on television, Mayim Bialik hosts a podcast with her boyfriend, fellow creative Jonathan Cohen, called Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown, which she launched in 2021.  

The couple met over 10 years ago and Jonathan executive produces the podcast whose website lists him as “a writer, poet, producer, father and futurist who imagines and designs new applications of technology”. 

Previously married to businessman Michael Stone, Mayim is a mother to two sons from that relationship, named Miles and Frederick.

Earning notoriety as Penny’s boyfriend, Leonard Hofstadter, Johnny Galecki prefers to keep his real romantic life away from the glitz and glam of Hollywood. 

In 2024, during a chat for the cover story for Architectural Digest, the star let slip that he had secretly married his wife, Morgan Galecki. One year earlier, Morgan made her first appearance on his Instagram account when he shared a reel of pictures from Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Johnny and Morgan are parents to Oona Evelena and the actor shares one son, Avery, with his ex-girlfriend, model and social media influencer, Alaina Meyer.

Portraying the largely undateable astrophysicist Raj Koothrappali on the show, in real life, actor Kunal Nayyar has been married to his wife, former Miss India Neha Kapur, since 22 December 2011. 

The couple first met in a bar in 2008 and three years later, they decided to make things official during a lavish traditional Indian wedding in Neha’s hometown of New Delhi, India. According to People magazine, it lasted six days and had 1,000 guests.

In 2021, the couple marked their 10th wedding anniversary with gushing posts to one another on Instagram. Kunal penned: “We may be unconventional, but I remembered how we promised to not live our lives according to someone else’s version of it. 

“Cheers to you, champion, partner, best friend. Whatever is to come, I am lucky we have tomorrow.”
