Melanie Griffith turned a simple stroll into a style moment this week, stepping out in Los Angeles and reminding everyone exactly why she remains one of Hollywood’s most effortlessly chic stars.
The 68-year-old actress was spotted enjoying a quiet day out, and while the outing itself was low-key, her look was anything but forgettable. Dressed in a relaxed yet polished ensemble, Melanie struck the perfect balance between timeless elegance and modern cool, and, quite frankly, she looked incredible.
Opting for a pair of high-waisted, wide-leg blue jeans, the Working Girl star leaned into one of the season’s biggest denim trends, pairing them with a soft, cream blouse worn slightly loose for an easy, undone feel. The combination was simple, but it worked beautifully, highlighting her frame while keeping things comfortable and understated.
Adding a touch of vintage glamour, Melanie accessorised with oversized black sunglasses and delicate lace gloves, an unexpected detail that elevated the entire outfit. Slung across her shoulder was a classic brown crossbody bag, while metallic loafers completed the look with a subtle hint of shine.
In her hand, she carried a book, suggesting a moment of calm in an otherwise busy city, and adding to the effortlessly intellectual vibe of her appearance. Her signature blonde hair was styled in a tousled, layered cut, framing her face and giving her a youthful, carefree edge.
What stood out most, however, was just how radiant she looked. With minimal makeup and a natural glow, Melanie appeared relaxed and confident, her style speaking to years of experience both on and off the red carpet.
The rare sighting comes as the actress continues to keep a relatively low profile, stepping away from the constant spotlight in recent years.
It comes after Melanie reunited with her ex Antonio Banderas, last month. The exes have struck up a “lifelong” friendship since their 2015 divorce and recently reunited for a lowkey day with their grown-up daughter.
“A lovely and fun moment yesterday in Los Angeles with my son-in-law Alex, my daughter Stella, and my ex-wife and lifelong friend, Melanie,” Antonio captioned a heartwarming home photo of him sitting on a couch next to Melanie and their daughter, Stella Banderas, 29.
Melanie had her head thrown back mid-laugh as she sat between her daughter and Stella’s longtime partner Alex Gruszynski, whom she married last October. Meanwhile, Antonio, who primarily resides in Spain, had a big smile plastered across his face as he shared a sweet moment with his daughter.
When Antonio married Melanie, he became a stepfather to the star’s two children from her previous marriages. Melanie welcomed her first son, Alexander Griffith Bauer, with her second husband Steven Bauer in 1985. She then had her daughter, Dakota Johnson, in 1989 when she reunited with her first husband, actor Don Johnson. As well as sharing a daughter with Don, Melanie became a stepmother to his son Jesse.
