Melissa McCarthy rocks figure-hugging power suit and statement hat during Hollywood outing

Joined by her husband Benji Falcone, Melissa, 55, cheered on Glenn as she placed her hands in the cement and then signed her name, and the couple later posed with Glenn. Glenn’s daughter Annie Starke also made a rare appearance, along with her daughter, Rory, whom she welcomed in February 2025 with husband Marc Albu.

Melissa has made interesting fashion choices in recent months after embracing her body and changing up her wardrobe to include figure-hugging dresses, bright jumpsuits, and slinky gowns.

The Bridesmaids actress has always been candid about her fluctuating weight, not to mention the fluctuations in confidence in her own body, although her perspective on beauty shifted when she hit her 30s.

She joined the cast of Gilmore Girls at the age of 30, and three years later underwent an extreme doctor-supervised, all-liquid diet of 500 calories a day, which led to her losing 70 lbs. in four months.

She has since said she would never make that choice again, and in the years that followed Melissa embraced her body and her looks by learning to be kinder to herself and not trying to please everyone, coming to understand the unrealistic standards imposed on women by the world at large.

Her husband’s unwavering love was also a huge support, with Melissa telling People magazine that his constant love and kindness helped her realize she was okay with who she was, and that if someone did not like her, “that’s okay too.”

Melissa and Benji are also parents to two teen daughters, and she has shared how important it is for the girls to see their parents make healthy, realistic choices.

“Give me your best punch in the face, and I’ll take that punch, rather than have my kid feel bad about herself,” she said in 2016 to Redbook.

“There’s an epidemic in our country of girls and women feeling bad about themselves based on what .5% of the human race looks like. It starts very young. My message is that as long as everybody’s healthy, enjoy and embrace whatever body type you have.”

In the past few years, fans have noticed Melissa’s changing body size, with even Barbra Streisand courting controversy for questioning whether the Emmy-winning actress had used Ozempic.

Melissa has never made public remarks about her eating or lifestyle choices, but she told CBS Sundays in 2024  that making the decision to stop “constantly being worried about it” made her less “nervous and rigid about it [and] that, bizarrely, has worked”.
