Nicole Kidman is embracing her new life as a single woman.
Just five months after reports confirmed that the former couple, who share two daughters, were separating, the actress posted a photo of herself smiling alone in bed, one day before Valentine’s Day. The couple called it quits after 19 years of marriage and Kidman filed for divorce.
While bathing in the sunlight coming in from a window, Kidman smiled sweetly, captioning the post “Happy Galentines 🩷.” The holiday is widely recognized now, but the ode to the celebration of female friendships first became popularized from the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation.
Fans quickly flooded the comments with praise, calling her “glowing” and wishing her an “amazing weekend” as she marked the occasion in her own way.
People first reported the couple’s separation in September 2025. At the time, a source shared insight into Kidman’s support system, saying, “Nicole’s sister [Antonia] has been a rock and the entire Kidman family has come together to support one another.”
“She didn’t want this,” the source continued. “She has been fighting to save the marriage.”
Kidman filed for divorce just one day after the news became public. Court documents obtained by People showed that she listed Sept. 30 as the date of separation and cited irreconcilable differences as the cause of the split. The pair’s breakup came only three months after celebrating their 19th wedding anniversary.
Their final public appearance together took place in June 2025, when they attended a FIFA Club World Cup match between Los Angeles Football Club and Esperance de Tunis in Nashville. Later, another insider told the outlet that the two had already begun living separate lives.
“Their lives were moving in different directions, and once he quietly set up his own place, it felt like the writing was on the wall,” the source explained. “It really hasn’t been a secret in their circles that Keith and Nicole have been living separately for a while now,” the insider added. “People close to Keith felt like the split was kind of inevitable.”
