A woman accused of firing gunshots at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion posted a series of alarming social media videos in the days before the incident, revealing a bizarre and obsessive fixation on the global pop star.
Authorities arrested Ivanna Ortiz, 35, on Sunday night after gunfire erupted outside Rihanna’s sprawling property while the singer was inside the home. Investigators say Ortiz’s online posts — many of which targeted the singer directly — appear to provide insight into a troubling motive behind the alleged attack.
Inside the Suspect’s Bizarre Claims About Rihanna
In multiple videos uploaded to her YouTube channel, Ortiz accused the pop star of “stealing” from her and claimed the singer was jealous of her. The videos show Ortiz delivering rambling accusations that portrayed Rihanna as an enemy and supernatural threat.
“Got Rihanna over there all jealous … because how am I … how am I … because her face is the devil,” Ortiz said in one clip. She continued with a series of increasingly erratic claims.
“I don’t like her and she’s always trying to steal from me. And she has not ever put out any music to reach people. She only put out her little music so she could do witchcraft,” Ortiz said.
In the same video, she urged viewers to avoid the singer. “So everybody please stop … don’t listen to her, don’t follow her … because she’s stealing from you,” she said. “So you guys need to wake up and don’t give that girl any attention … she can’t come over here and steal my thoughts.”
In another video, Ortiz invoked religion while continuing to accuse Rihanna of sinister behavior. “Even though the devil and Rihanna are really loud, God and Jesus Christ are doing something … and myself,” she said. “Rihanna and the devil may be loud, they may be very loud, but that’s not power. Me and Jesus Christ are good.”
One additional clip included a direct message aimed at the singer. “Listen Rihanna, when you die God will take me to my future. You want to kill me. Shut the f— up,” Ortiz said. “Yeah she’s a witch. I’m a watchman.”
Rihanna Left Shaken After Terrifying Shooting
Sources close to the singer say the incident left Rihanna deeply shaken. An insider said that the Grammy-winning artist initially struggled to understand what had happened when shots rang out near her home.
“Rihanna heard the shots, but was initially confused about what happened,” the source said. “Even with a great security team in place, it’s scary to realize that something like this can still happen.”
Another source described the situation as frightening for the singer and her family. “It was terrifying,” the insider said, adding that Rihanna is “thankful everyone is safe.”
According to sources, the star has already taken additional safety precautions following the incident.
Suspect’s Troubled Background Emerges
New details about Ortiz’s past have begun surfacing in the wake of the arrest. Court records reveal she was previously charged with domestic battery in June 2023 after an altercation with her ex-husband outside her apartment in Orlando, Florida.
According to a police report, the confrontation began when her ex-husband arrived to drop off their daughter after an argument via text message. Ortiz allegedly warned him beforehand that he would be “getting socked on the nose tonight.”
When he arrived, he began recording on his cellphone. The situation quickly escalated into a verbal dispute before Ortiz allegedly lunged at him and attempted to grab his phone.
Police said she fell to the ground during the struggle and later began throwing punches. Officers responding to the scene observed a scratch on the man’s face. The couple’s daughter was reportedly extremely distressed during the incident, crying and hyperventilating as officers attempted to speak with her. “I find Ivanna Ortiz to be the primary aggressor of the above incident,” the responding officer wrote in the report.
Ortiz was later arrested again for allegedly violating pretrial release conditions related to the case.
Social Media Posts Show Growing Obsession
In the weeks leading up to the Beverly Hills shooting, Ortiz posted a series of unusual social media messages that referenced multiple celebrities — most notably Rihanna.
In a Feb. 23 Facebook post, she tagged the singer directly. “@badgalriri — Are you there?” Ortiz wrote. “’Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you’re talking to me where I’m not at.”
Ortiz’s online presence also revealed fragments of her personal history. In a December post, she shared a photo posing with trophies and described herself as “Miss Teen Illinois Latina Princess 2006,” suggesting she once competed in beauty pageants.
Her Instagram account has since been deactivated.
Court filings also show Ortiz previously attempted legal action involving the entertainment industry. In 2025, she filed a petition seeking to block a Billie Eilish concert at Orlando’s Kia Center, alleging event organizers had failed to secure required permits.
Investigation Continues
Authorities have not yet released full details about the shooting or Ortiz’s potential charges connected to the incident at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills home.
For now, the disturbing social media videos and escalating online posts have become a central focus for investigators attempting to understand what drove the suspect to allegedly target one of the world’s most recognizable music stars.
