Prince George is starting a new chapter. The eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton has just arrived at Eton College, where he’ll be starting school for the next couple of years. It represents the start of a new era for George, 13, who’d previously attended school at Lambrook with his younger siblings, Charlotte, 11, and Louis, 8.
In new photos, George is seen arriving at school alongside his parents, Prince William and Kate. The trio was photographed chatting and smiling, with George wearing a suit and a blue tie. His parents were holding umbrellas for the occasion, with Kate wearing a green dress and her hair styled loose and wavy.
Prince William wore a similar suit to his son’s, opting for a striped button-up shirt and a blue tie.
The group was photographed walking inside the school and by the statue of King Henry VI. They were welcomed in by headmaster Simon Henderson and provost Sir Nicholas Coleridge.

Earlier today, Kensington Palace shared photos of George’s first day at school, showing him wearing the school’s emblematic and formal uniform.
George smiled for the portraits taken on school grounds, showing him with a black tailcoat, pinstriped pants, and a stiff white-collar shirt. It’s the same uniform that Prince William and Prince Harry wore when they were students at Eton.
Eton College was founded in 1480 by Henry VI, alongside other prestigious schools in the country, including King’s College, Cambridge, All Souls College, and Oxford.

He and his brother broke tradition by attending the school, taking a different road than King Charles and the late Prince Philip, who both attended Gordonstoun in the Scottish Highlands. Princess Diana decided the boys should stay closer to home.
“Her brother and father went there, and of course, it was much closer to home than Gordonstoun, where Charles wasn’t happy anyway,” said author Simon Vigar to PEOPLE.
