Princess Iman’s new life at 30

Princess Iman of Jordan is celebrating her 30th birthday at an especially meaningful time in her life. Just weeks after welcoming twin daughters with her husband, Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, King Abdullah and Queen Rania’s daughter is now a mother of three.

The couple welcomed twins Talia and Rania on August 14, making their first daughter, Amina, born in February 2025, a big sister. In just a year and a half, Iman and Jameel have become a family of five, opening a new chapter in the famously private royal’s life.

A Very Private Princess

It’s a new chapter for Princess Iman, who has always maintained a remarkably low profile. Despite her royal upbringing, she has largely stayed out of the spotlight, making her most notable public appearances around major personal milestones, including her wedding and the births of her daughters.

Iman was born on September 27, 1996, and is the second of Jordan’s king and queen’s four children. She comes after Crown Prince Hussein and before her younger siblings, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem.

Occasional Appearances at Hashemite Court Events

Before her marriage, Iman accompanied her mother to engagements focused on Jordanian women. While she has also attended official family events, her public appearances have been far less frequent than those of her older brother, the heir to the throne, and even her younger siblings.

From College in the U.S. to Her Wedding

Iman attended the International Academy Amman, where she excelled in sports, particularly horseback riding. She later studied sociology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and also attended New York’s prestigious Parsons School of Design.

It was in New York City that she met Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, a financier born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1994 to a family of Greek descent. Their engagement was announced in July 2022. About six months later, on March 12, 2023, they were married.

A Short but Deeply Moving Wedding

The couple exchanged vows at Beit Al Urdun Palace, the residence of Jordan’s king and queen. Iman became the first of King Abdullah and Queen Rania’s four children to marry.

The ceremony lasted just 15 minutes or so but was filled with meaningful personal touches. The bride’s tiara, for example, had once belonged to her paternal grandmother, Princess Muna.

Three Daughters in Less Than Two Years

Nearly two years after their fairy-tale wedding, the couple welcomed their first child. Amina was born in February 2025, making Iman a mother for the first time and King Abdullah and Queen Rania grandparents for the first time. It’s a role Queen Rania has embraced with particular pride.

News of Iman’s pregnancy had emerged only a few weeks earlier. True to form, the couple had kept the pregnancy almost entirely out of the public eye.

In early July, Rania announced that her daughter was expecting again, sharing a photo that showed Iman well into her pregnancy. Then came a surprise on August 14, when the Royal Hashemite Court announced that the princess had given birth to twin girls.

Their names were revealed the following day: Talia and Rania. The second name carries special meaning as a tribute to their maternal grandmother, Queen Rania. The twins became the king and queen’s third and fourth grandchildren.

A Princess Devoted to Family

Princess Iman has always been close to her parents and siblings, and motherhood has opened a new chapter in her life just as she turns 30. She reaches the milestone as a mother of three young girls, continuing to keep a low profile within Jordan’s prominent royal family while enjoying an especially happy chapter in her personal life.
