Leonor and Sofía joined their parents and grandmother Queen Sofía for the annual gathering, which welcomes representatives from different sectors and institutions across the Balearic Islands.

This year’s appearance marked only the second time the sisters have participated in the reception after making their debut at the event in 2025.

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia led the royal family at the Marivent reception, joined by Princess Leonor, Infanta Sofía and Queen Sofía for the annual summer gathering.

While Queen Letizia kept things understated in an ivory striped Sybilla dress and King Felipe opted for a relaxed blue shirt with dark trousers, Leonor and Sofía supplied the evening’s biggest dose of color. Queen Sofía completed the multigenerational royal outing in a vibrant floral ensemble in shades of pink, purple and white.

Leonor embraces sunset colors and voluminous waves:

Princess Leonor, 20, chose a two-piece look from Spanish sustainable fashion label Thinking Mu, pairing the brand’s sleeveless Dora top with its coordinating Pauline maxi skirt.

The pleated pieces featured an abstract gradient of fiery red, orange and yellow with unexpected flashes of blue, creating an effect reminiscent of a summer sunset.

The heir to the Spanish throne had actually worn the top before, choosing it for a Bad Bunny concert in Madrid with her sister in June. For the Marivent reception, however, she debuted the complete matching set, transforming the casual piece into a polished head-to-toe look.

Leonor finished the outfit with gold-toned accessories, including an organic-shaped cuff worn high on her arm and several rings, as well as metallic sandals. Among her jewelry was PDPAOLA’s Gravity Ring.

Her beauty look was equally striking. Rather than the polished blowouts and softer waves she frequently favors for royal engagements, Leonor wore her long hair loose with pronounced, textured waves and plenty of volume.

Face-framing lighter pieces emphasized the movement of the style, while her makeup remained fresh and understated with glowing skin, defined lashes and a glossy pink lip.

Sofía takes the same trend in a romantic direction:

Standing beside her sister, Infanta Sofía, 19, offered a softer interpretation of the same artistic trend.

The younger royal wore the Libelula dress by Italian label Momonì, a flowing maxi design featuring an all-over print blending magenta, blush pink, burgundy, cream and touches of blue. The airy silhouette featured a V-neckline and cinched waist, which Sofía accentuated with a delicate gold starburst-style belt.

Although the sisters selected completely different silhouettes and color palettes, their outfits shared an unmistakable visual connection. Both incorporated blurred, painterly patterns that gave the appearance of watercolor or sophisticated tie-dye, making their coordination feel subtle rather than overly planned.

Sofía complemented the romantic dress with gold jewelry and flat metallic sandals, keeping her accessories minimal enough to let the colorful print take center stage.

And while their clothes were in sync, their hair could hardly have been more different.

A new generation of royal summer style:

The sisters’ latest appearance also showed how their individual fashion identities are becoming increasingly distinct.

Leonor’s textured hair and fiery two-piece gave her look a relaxed, slightly bohemian quality, while Sofía’s fluid pink dress and ultra-sleek hair leaned more romantic and polished. Yet the shared painterly prints tied them together visually, creating one of their most complementary sister style moments to date.

Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía delivered a coordinating sister style moment in Mallorca, embracing painterly prints while showcasing their distinctly different personal styles.

Their presence at Marivent is becoming a new royal summer tradition in itself. Leonor and Sofía attended the reception for the first time in 2025, when Leonor notably borrowed a blue-and-white dress previously worn by Queen Letizia, while Sofía chose a pink tie-dye Zara design.

One year later, the sisters returned not only with increasingly confident personal styles, but with another subtle fashion connection that proved coordinating doesn’t have to mean dressing alike.
