Priscilla Presley is shutting down rumors that Sarah Ferguson has been staying with her as speculation swirls around the royal’s whereabouts.
Ferguson, 66, hasn’t been seen in public for months, which has led to all kinds of theories about where she might be. Some reports suggested she had been laying low at Priscilla’s Los Angeles home, but that’s not the case.
“It’s totally false,” a spokesperson for Priscilla, 80, told People, pushing back on claims that Ferguson has been living with her.
The denial comes after a March 4 report from Page Six claimed Ferguson had been staying with friends, including Priscilla, amid fallout tied to Jeffrey Epstein and the so-called Epstein Files, even suggesting she was “effectively homeless.”
Ferguson, who was previously married to Prince Andrew, is said to have only a “few” people left in her circle, according to an insider.
She and Priscilla have been close for years, largely because of Ferguson’s bond with Priscilla’s late daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Ferguson even nicknamed her “sissy,” short for sister.
As rumors continue to swirl, Ferguson has reportedly been spotted in various places, from a Swiss spa to villas in the United Arab Emirates, as well as in Portugal with her daughter Princess Eugenie and at a retreat in Ireland.
Earlier this week, reports claimed Priscilla had offered Ferguson a place to stay out of “sympathy” following renewed attention on the Epstein Files in late January.
“Everyone’s telling her [Fergie] that now’s not a good time,” an insider said. “A lot of people actually really like her, but being associated with anyone associated with Epstein just isn’t wise right now.”
Despite those claims, Priscilla’s team insists Ferguson is not staying at her home. The Elvis family matriarch, who has owned multiple properties over the years, primarily lives in Los Angeles.
Ferguson and Lisa Marie shared a particularly strong bond. During the years Lisa Marie lived in England between 2010 and 2016, Ferguson supported her through difficult times before her death in 2023 at age 54.
Ferguson also spoke at a memorial event held at Graceland shortly after Lisa Marie passed, where she quoted Queen Elizabeth II.
“My late mother-in-law used to say that nothing [that] can be said can begin to take away the anguish and the pain of these moments, because grief is the price we pay for love. And how right she was,” she told mourners.
Some insiders claim Priscilla has not forgotten that support and has been returning the kindness as Ferguson deals with ongoing controversy, even though her spokesperson denies she’s currently hosting her. There’s also been talk about Priscilla’s ties to the Church of Scientology, which she joined in the late 1970s after the death of Elvis Presley. While Lisa Marie eventually distanced herself, a spokesperson said in 2017 that Priscilla remained a member.
One source claimed that while Ferguson hasn’t joined the church, she may be exploring different forms of support during this difficult time.
“When your life gets turned upside down, you start exploring anything that might help,” the source said. “Right now she’s just listening. But Priscilla is definitely influencing her thinking. She’s looking for guidance and stability right now”.
Another insider told the outlet that Ferguson’s inner circle has gotten much smaller, with Priscilla believed to still be among those she trusts. When asked whether Ferguson is currently in the U.S., the source suggested she might be cautious about staying too long, especially with growing calls for her to speak about her past connection to Epstein.
Friends have long described Ferguson and Lisa Marie’s relationship as something deeper than a typical celebrity friendship.
“They hit it off on all sorts of levels,” a friend of the Duchess said in 2023. “She talks of them bonding like sisters.”
