Queen Camilla is honoring her mother-in-law, the late Queen Elizabeth. This past Wednesday, the reigning Queen was photographed wearing a meaningful brooch pinned to her chest.
Camilla, 79, was photographed wearing a blue dress she paired with a trench coat. She completed the look with a hat, adding a very royal touch. For jewellery, Camilla opted for pearl drop earrings, bracelets, a trench bag and heels.
The brooch caught the eye of royal experts. The piece is a beautiful diamond and sapphire moth brooch.
The piece has been worn by Camilla numerous times on important occasions, including a Commonwealth Day celebration and a Christmas in Sandringham in 2016. She also wore it on her official birthday portraits this year, showing her allegiance to the brooch and how meaningful it is for her.
As reported by Tatler, the brooch was a gift from Queen Elizabeth herself. According to the palace, the brooch was gifted to the queen in 1977, even though she was never photographed wearing it in public. Still, the brooch was a present to Camilla years ago, showing the strength of their relationship.

As reported by Rebecca English, the royal editor of The Daily Mail, Charles and Camilla often spend their weekends apart in separate country homes. “I can understand why it looks a little odd to people, but it actually works for them,” she continued.

“It’s a real bolthole for her. It’s very informal,” said English. Camilla still spends a lot of time there alongside her kids, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes, and her grandkids.
“They also live quite independent lives and I don’t think it affects their relationship at all,” continued English.
