Queen Mary stepped out in a striking black-and-white power suit for Danish Industry’s annual business day in Copenhagen.

The 54-year-old royal arrived at the Bella Center in a sophisticated black trouser suit featuring a graphic white linear pattern. The tailored jacket was cinched at the waist with a slim black belt, creating a defined silhouette before flowing into dramatic wide-leg trousers.

Mary kept the rest of her styling understated, allowing the statement tailoring to take center stage. Her brunette hair was worn loose in softly styled waves, while delicate earrings and a pendant necklace added subtle finishing touches.

The result was a polished look that felt particularly fitting for the occasion. Rather than opting for one of the dresses or skirts frequently seen in her royal wardrobe, Mary embraced a sleek, business-inspired silhouette as she attended Danish Industry’s annual business day.

According to the Danish Royal House, innovation, entrepreneurship and social responsibility were at the heart of this year’s event. During her visit, the Queen met representatives from companies working to develop solutions to some of the challenges facing Denmark.

Mary also toured a series of company stands showcasing developments across fields including quantum technology, defense technology and biotechnology.

The engagement concluded with another important royal duty for the Queen as she presented the 2026 Danish Industry Award. This year’s honor went to Virksomhedsberedskabet, an initiative that works to connect the needs of public authorities with the resources of businesses in the event of a national crisis.

It was a fitting setting for one of Mary’s sharpest recent fashion moments. Since becoming Queen in January 2024, the Australian-born royal has continued to balance the elegant dresses, gowns and traditional pieces associated with royal life with more contemporary tailoring.

Wednesday’s graphic suit offered another example of that approach, taking the familiar royal pantsuit and giving it a bolder, more modern finish.

And with an afternoon dedicated to some of Denmark’s most forward-looking businesses, Mary’s sophisticated take on power dressing couldn’t have been more appropriate.
