Queen Mathilde of Belgium brought a bold dose of color to the streets of New York City, stepping out in a striking green ensemble as she continued her busy schedule during the high-level week of the United Nations General Assembly.
The 53-year-old royal was photographed making her way through Manhattan in a vibrant green pantsuit that offered an unexpected alternative to traditional power dressing.
Rather than a classic blazer, Mathilde wore a fitted top featuring a dramatic sculptural neckline that folded across the shoulders, creating an almost cape-like effect.
The structured design cinched at the waist before giving way to coordinating wide-leg trousers, which added movement to the monochromatic look as the Queen crossed the streets of Manhattan.

The eye-catching ensemble accompanied an important day of engagements for the Belgian royal. According to the Belgian Royal Palace, the second day of Mathilde’s New York visit focused on humanitarian diplomacy, women, peace and security, youth mental health and protecting children in the digital world.

On Sept. 21, she met with Rahman, with the UN saying their conversation addressed the Sustainable Development Goals, the experiences of refugees and victims of sexual violence in conflict zones, the role of artificial intelligence and the inclusion of young people in global decision-making.
