Queen Máxima delivered a masterclass in royal style during the second day of the German state visit to the Netherlands, seamlessly transitioning from soft daytime romance to evening glamour steeped in centuries of royal history.

The Dutch queen joined German First Lady Elke Büdenbender for a series of engagements across the country as part of the state visit hosted by King Willem-Alexander and Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

Throughout the day, Máxima showcased two distinctly different looks that highlighted her signature ability to balance modern sophistication with regal grandeur.

For the daytime engagements, Queen Máxima embraced romantic elegance in a soft blush pink ensemble.

The feminine look featured delicate tailoring and fluid lines, creating an effortlessly polished silhouette perfect for the busy schedule of official visits.

She paired the look with coordinating accessories and her signature radiant smile, while her blonde hair was styled in loose, softly swept waves.

Her natural, glowing makeup emphasized fresh skin, rosy cheeks, and subtle eye definition, allowing the pastel palette to take center stage.

The day included a visit to the Fenix Museum, where Queen Máxima and Ms. Büdenbender enjoyed a guided tour and met with local artists.

Elsewhere, King Willem-Alexander and President Steinmeier toured the Port of Rotterdam to discuss Dutch-German sustainability and energy initiatives.

The queen and the German first lady also visited the International Criminal Court in The Hague before attending a formal government lunch hosted by Prime Minister Rob Jetten at Duivenvoorde Castle.

As evening fell, Máxima transformed her look entirely for a musical reception hosted by the German presidential couple at the residence of the German Ambassador in The Hague.

The queen traded daytime romance for understated glamour, stepping out in a dusky pink one-shoulder jumpsuit by Belgian fashion house Natan, one of her longtime favorite designers.

The elegant silhouette featured dramatic draping and clean lines, striking the perfect balance between contemporary fashion and royal sophistication.

Her beauty look was equally refined. Máxima wore her hair swept into an elegant updo, allowing her statement jewelry to shine.

Cascading diamond earrings and sparkling bracelets added extra brilliance, while her polished makeup focused on softly defined eyes and a luminous complexion.

However, it was her historic brooch that captured the attention of royal jewelry enthusiasts.

Pinned to the front of her jumpsuit was the famed Romanov Pearl and Diamond Stomacher, a remarkable jewel with roots in Imperial Russia. The piece originally belonged to Maria Feodorovna and was later gifted to her daughter, Anna Pavlovna, who became Queen of the Netherlands after marrying William II.

Part of Anna Pavlovna’s extensive dowry, the jewel has remained within the Dutch royal collection for generations.

While the stomacher was traditionally worn at the center of the torso, Máxima opted for a modern interpretation, styling the historic treasure as a brooch.

The version she wore featured a more streamlined arrangement of diamonds, though the jewel can also be worn in a grander configuration complete with cascading diamonds and two magnificent pearls.

The result was a perfect illustration of Queen Máxima’s distinctive approach to royal fashion.

Modern silhouettes paired with extraordinary historic jewels.

From romantic daytime elegance to evening glamour infused with Romanov history, the Dutch queen once again proved why she remains one of Europe’s most celebrated royal style icons.
